There are an attempt by US to destabilize BRICS countries.

Argentina recently said it has interest in to unite the BRICS group. And also it bought some chinese ships as was said previously in the topic. China also has a satellite base launch in Argentina.

US will not allow this approach between Latin American countries and Chinese in his backyard. The case of Argentinean shot down prosecutor can be an attempt to destabilize Cristina Kirchner. Like as the Brazilian rallies of Sunday and Dilma Rousseff.
I heard that Dilma Rousseff's opponent and his campaign was funded by the US. The US was spying on Dilma Rousseff, and when it was revealed, she cancelled an order she wanted to give to Boeing.

The BRICS were interpreted by Wall Street as a business opportunity, by the Pentagon/CIA/NSA as something to be targeted, and ignored by the rest of America. That is why US policy towards them is so schizophrenic and insane.

I dont know if F-18 Hornet option was cancelled by espionage. What Brazil wanted is transfer of technology, and American were so resistant. If this supposed espionage was motivation of American defeat in our FX program, the natural political retaliation would be buy a Russian fighter, and not the Gripen, which though be Swedish, it has yet several American components.

What had spread here is that the death by crash airplane of Eduardo Campos, the third candidate in last elections was due to CIA's sabotage. This conspiration theory was published even in russian newspaper Pravda.

I think it was a transport aircraft, but I could be wrong.

Coming back to corruption, if there are corrupt officials within the government of Dilma Rousseff, they must be investigated, and if found guilty, punished. However, there should be no substitute for electing a government via elections.

What options are left across the board for Argentina?

REFILE-Saab dismisses prospect of Gripen jet fighters sale to Argentina

LINKOPING, Sweden, April 27 (Reuters) - Sweden's Saab AB (SAABb.ST) on Monday ruled out facilitating the sale of Gripen fighter aircraft to Argentina as the result of a deal to build and export combat jets from Brazil.

Argentina has expressed interest in buying 24 Gripen fighter jets from its Latin American neighbour once Brazil is able to export them, early next decade.

Such a deal would face an almost certain veto from Britain, which provides some 30 percent of the Gripen's content, including the radar on its next-generation Gripen E/F.

Saab said it was not involved in any discussions involving Argentina.

"Nobody has asked us to do that and we are not considering it," a spokesman said during a defence media briefing.

Relations between Britain and Argentina remain tense since a war 33 years ago over the Falkland Islands, known as Las Malvinas in Argentina.

Late last year, Brazilian defence officials forecast more demand for Saab Gripen aircraft, including from Argentina.

Saab has sold 60 Gripen Es to Sweden and is finalizing an order for another 36 to Brazil, which will also co-develop a two-seat version Saab calls Gripen F and Brazilian officials call Gripen NG.

Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer SA (EMBR3.SA) has said it hopes to devise a plan with Saab by June to export the Gripen from Brazil beginning in 2023.

Saab officials said the first Gripen export from Brazil could come as early as 2022.

The head of Saab's aeronautics division, Ulf Nilsson, said

the development programme for the Gripen E was on track, but he declined to outline details of the production ramp-up.

Saab also said it was confident about plans with Boeing Co (BA.N) to try to sell newly designed T-X training jets to the United States. But in a series of detailed briefings, Saab officials declined to discuss anything about the aircraft design, which remains strictly under wraps.

The pair are expected to face competition from Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC.N) , a team of Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) and Korea Aerospace Industries, and an alliance between General Dynamics Corp (GD.N) and Italy's Alenia Aermacchi, a unit of Finmeccanica SpA (SIFI.MI) .

As with the Brazilian fighter deal, Saab is looking at potential exports if it wins the trainer competition.

"When we looked into this, of course we wanted a global market for trainers. I think it is a great market out there," deputy chief executive Lennart Sindahl said.

Argentina in negotiations for Israeli Kfir fighters
By: ARIE EGOZI
TEL AVIV
Source: Flightglobal.com
After a long period of "preliminary evaluation", Argentina is negotiating the purchase of a batch of Israel Aerospace Industries Kfir Block 60 fighters.

The Block 60 is the latest upgraded version of the Kfir, which was used by the Israeli air force between 1975 and 1994. Some aircraft are being offered with General Electric J79 engines with zero hours following a complete overhaul, while other examples would need to have this work performed after their powerplant reaches 1,600 flight hours.

The upgraded fighter will carry an Elta Systems EL/M-2032 active electronically scanned array radar, which can operate in simultaneous air-to-air and air-to-surface modes and is capable of tracking up to 64 targets. Its open architecture design will also allow the customer to integrate other systems, industry sources say.

Representatives of the Argentinian air force visited Israel last year and were briefed about the proposed deal. Since then, the service has submitted a list of technical modifications that it would want to see incorporated for its potential use.

IAI declines to comment on the negotiations.

Flightglobal reported in January 2014 that Argentina could pursue a deal to acquire 18 of the combat aircraft from Israel.

There are currently a combined 36 Kfirs in operational use with the air forces of Colombia (pictured), Ecuador and Sri Lanka, as recorded by Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer database.

Argentina, China nuclear plant agreements bear 'historic importance'
Updated: 2015-11-16 15:08

BUENOS AIRES -- Agreements between Argentina and China on the construction of two nuclear power stations in the South American country have "historic importance," according to Argentinean government on Sunday.

Argentina's Ministry of Federal Planning announced in a press release that "the contracts and agreements on building the fourth and fifth nuclear plants in Argentina have been signed," in Antalya, Turkey, where the G20 Leaders Summit was held.

Under the agreements, China's third-generation nuclear reactor design, known as the Hualong One design, will be used in the fifth nuclear plant in Argentina, a key emerging market for Chinese companies.

President of Argentina's state-run energy company Nucleoelectrica Argentina S.A.(NA-SA) Jose Luis Antunez, and General Manager of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), Qian Zhimin, signed the technical and commercial contracts that will bring strategic development to Argentina's nuclear power plan.

"The construction of two new nuclear power plants will ensure our energy supply in the future," said Argentina's Economy Minister Axel Kicillof on Sunday.

The agreements "are very favorable" as they will "give us energy and competitiveness," Kicillof added, who also attended the signing ceremony.

"The sector's recent development as part of a strategic plan for the next decade is already a government policy," Federal Planning Minister Julio de Vido said.

The estimated investment of the fourth nuclear plant is $5.99 billion. Most of the financing will come from Chinese bank loans at a preferential rate, according to the Federal Planning Ministry.

The fourth plant with a heavy-water reactor will use a Canada Deuterium Uranium (Candu) style reactor, similar to the one in the Embalse Nuclear Power Station in Cordoba, Argentina. It will generate approximately 750 megawatts of power upon completion and will create direct employment for over 7,000 workers.

It will be built in the Atucha Nuclear Complex, adjacent to the Nestor Kirchner Nuclear Power Plant and the Juan Domingo Peron Nuclear Power Plant, 110 km from Argentina's capital city of Buenos Aires.

NA-SA will be the future plant's designer, builder and operator, and the CNNC will cooperate by providing teams of experts, components and services.

The two countries signed an agreement on jointly building two nuclear plants in Argentina during Argentine President Cristina Kirchner's visit to China in February 2015.

Under the agreement, the CNNC will partner with the NA-SA to build the two nuclear plants to double Argentina's nuclear power capacity.

China, Argentina to unveil CANDU reactor in Q1, 2017
By admin On 3 Jul, 2016 At 02:05 AM

China and Argentina announced their goal to launch a CANDU (Canada Deuterium Uranium) reactor project in the first quarter of 2017, which is expected to pave the way for more nuclear project cooperation between the two countries.

During a Wednesday meeting in Beijing, the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and the visiting Argentina’s Ministry of Federal Mining representatives and its state-run energy company sponsor Nucleoelectrica Argentina S.A.(NA-SA), confirmed and clarified their goal of start construction of a CANDU reactor project in the first quarter next year and discussed further cooperation on the project, the CNNC website showed.

“China and Argentina, though a world apart, are in close nuclear cooperation. The two countries share a tradition of friendship and both governments also attached much significance to nuclear power cooperation,” CNNC general manager Qian Zhimin said during the meeting.

CNNC is willing to strengthen association with its Argentine counterpart and realize cooperation and win-win scenarios in multiple fields such as CANDU reactor, pressurized water reactors and nuclear fuels, Qian noted, adding that both sides should guarantee projects during earlier phases that can be launched on time so as to create a good beginning for follow-up projects, according to the website.

The CANDU reactor is Canadian-developed, pressurized heavy water reactor used for electric power generation.

CNNC is reportedly the only nuclear company that has exported nuclear power reactors in China so far. In November 2015, CNNC and NA-SA signed technical and commercial contracts to build two nuclear power plants in Argentina, news site thepaper.cn reported.

The China-Argentina nuclear power plants will contribute to over 30-billion-yuan worth of nuclear power plant equipment exports, according to thepaper.cn.
