In India too we should adopt one child policy, we should start implementing the policy, castrate the males after the birth of their 1st child, by reducing their hormonal rate we can eventually bring the crime rate down as well and prioritize at the regions with the top 15 states with highest birth rates, by 2040 we have to provide for a very high resource hungry population, and the common people has to be made aware that earth is not just a breeding place, and we are not baby bearing pigs, and teach them that they are not god given gifts else we can wait for another nut job like Genghis Khan to bring down the birth rate by annihilating half of the world
One child policy is curse and China is facing hear with ageing population. India will be soon waking up largest workforce in the world every morning.
You are advocating for One Child Policy. Read around on this forum which has numerous threads detailing hazards of same and dreadful situation in China. Population explosion is concern but inane forceful measures like one child policy are no answer.

Good luck passing laws of One Child Policy in your selected states at the cost of hazards it will bring. Moreover, such law will interfere with individual rights declared in constitution so the proposal will have to go through both the central houses and President.
You got me, it contradicts the constitutional rights, the only way to implement this policy is by canvassing the masses of the states with highest child bearing rate. China's 1 Child policy is too stupid. For India, a possible solution is "Max 2 Children" policy with civil incentives & penalties Eg: Any couple with more than 2 children looses ration card and govt subsidies. Any couple with only 1 child or an adopted child gets bumped up for social welfare etc. System is easy to implement via a scoring system very similar to the credit rating of each individual.
In addition to the above any couple with more than 2 children should be made to pay more tax to the government.
Well, if there is a One Child Policy and there is no legal ban on sexual activities, there will be unwanted pregnancies. If someone wants to have the second child, it will be cost prohibitive. Therefore, abortion is the only way!
These Indians never learn but just are trolling "one-child" . There're many many having more than one-child. And with regards to "graying" population, immigrants are at the door!

That is if you can provide basic needs to them all including access to water, food, education and jobs. Not to mention the environmental issues. Been the most populous nation in the world may not be a blessing.
