Centre considering separate marriage law for Sikhs - Hindustan Times
long time coming.
how it`s good move can some one explain?arn`t sikhs consider hindus to? or its another ploy to garner votes considering elections are going to held in punjab. looks like congrees has found perfect plan to garner vote , just before election announce something for a particular miniority of concerning state
Sikhs aren't Hindus, they are separate.
ok then what does indian law tells about it
I don't think it's such a great move, being Sikh i'am fine with the existing law. What I want is a good freaking economy
What I want is a strong lokpal, not some before the election poll ploy. Goi should spent all it's energy on lokpal. Also all the opposition parties
Should put amendments to make it a better lokpal.
Lokpal is in its place and making of other laws are in it's place. This is not a poll gimmick but long standing request of the Sikhs to the GoI.
Instead of having a common civil code, we love complicating issue.
The rites can be different, but the other aspects that affect living life should be common for all citizens.
Sikhs are not Hindus, so are Bharmos, Arya Samajis and so many others.
Why not have a different law for all?
Maybe a hundred odd would make life easier.
should be stop buying weapons also till lokpal is not passed ?
govt has many responsibilities also apart from lokpal (which was passed today)
It makes life easier for the people concerned.(beneficiaries)
And problems too!
There is a whole lot of inter community and inter religion marriages taking place!
What law should apply if they get married by the rituals of both their community and religion?
Their children and inheritance and so on? And more so, if the children decide to have different religions?
Khurshid would love to add more problems so that the heat is off his back!
