USA will not help us. They only care about themselves. They will make agreement with taliban not to be anti-us and leave them be.
Ofcourse, US cares about its interests just like India cares about its own interests. In the case of Taliban, atleast as long as US wants to get rid of the Talibanis, we should support them. For our own interests.

Regarding afghanistan our priorities best match with iran who along with us and russia funded the northern alliance against the taliban for many years.

If they are big threat then we should take them out ourselves rather than allow yanks on our soil.
True, we along with Iran are in love with the Northern Alliance. Maybe we should try to get US and Iran in our club against Taliban. You shouldn't have any problem with that.... unless you hate threesome! :D

No we we allow US to use our soil we are not Puki searching for bone's.

We must issue a statement through MEA that India has no plan currently or in future to help US troops have logistic advantage from INDIA.

Never believe US they always play only for them they was those who stood at front to sanction us during nuke test when they have 100's of payloads ready to launch at any time

If we are going through to offer help I hope the politicians have the brains to demand terms like all aid and weapon gifting to pak stops.

One more way maybe to have Pakistan get out of kashmir pok that would make land access possible
This is probably what USA wants and the reason Pakistan has brought the Chinese in POK as a hedge?

America will only betray India like it has betrayed every other single nation besides Israel. To them we're just material pawns to be killed in the millions just to serve western interests. India should not get itself involved with America's conflicts in South Asia or anywhere in the world.

since when is Iran ready to host US troops/supplies ????

but if Iran is being seriously considered, the "Iran invasion" is inevitable :thumb:
Just a hypothesis. When there are wars to be fought anything is possible. At one time
The Islamic world.never imagined the center of Islam the kingdom of Saudi Arabia would host
A foreign army/coalition to attack another Islamic country and a sunni country at that.
Well they did it not once but twice in the gulf wars.

Accords struck with central Asian states to transport military hardware

Brussels : Nato has concluded agreements with central Asian nations allowing it to evacuate vehicles and other military equipment from Afghanistan and completely bypass Pakistan, which once provided the main supply route for coalition forces.

Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Monday that Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan had agreed to allow the reverse transport of alliance equipment. Since Nato already has an agreement with Russia, the deal will allow it to ship back to Europe tens of thousands of vehicles, containers and other items through the overland route when the evacuation picks up pace later this year.

Pakistan shut down the southern supply routes six months ago after US airstrikes accidentally killed 24 Pakistani soldiers at two border posts, forcing Nato to switch almost completely to the so-called Northern Distribution Network.

After months of stalemate, Pakistani leaders last month signalled that negotiations on the supply routes were progressing, just in time to secure an invitation to the weekend Nato summit in Chicago. But since then the two sides have made little progress in the talks, officials said.

The announcement on Monday appears to indicate that Washington and its allies are now preparing for the possibility that the supply link through Pakistan, said to be about six times cheaper than its northern alternative, may not be reopened at all. It is also likely to put pressure on Pakistan to ease its negotiating stance, which has been stuck in part on how much money the US and Nato should pay to transport the trucks through Pakistani territory.

Nato plans to hand over lead responsibility for the war against the Taliban to the Afghan army and police by the middle of next year, and withdraw its troops by the end of 2014. The alliance already has started drawing down its forces, which reached a peak of about 140,000 last year.
The Afghan security forces will have more than 350,000 members in the next few months. The international withdrawal is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014.

"These agreements will give us a range of new options and the robust and flexible transport network we need," Fogh Rasmussen told reporters.

He said the new deals would make "the use of the Russian transit arrangements even more effective."

Moscow also has proposed allowing Nato to set up a logistics facility at the air base in Ulyanovsk, Russia, for troops and cargo heading in and out of Afghanistan.

If the US bypasses Pakistan, then Pakistan will require a 'bypass' to stay alive - financially and militarily.

They can use India to Iran route?
I have been saying this for quite sometime. India already has built a port in Iran and even a high way from this port to Afghanistan, if US can somehow work with Iran ?

they can label goods as humanitarian supplies, lift sanctions, give Iran a bigger role in astan and in return Iran promises it'll give up nuclear shyte, and stops meddling in Iraq. I am asking for the moon.

nice one, but they also need pakistan's logistic supply route as well. it's just that they don't want to show that they are deperate. because of pakistan's weak economy it's desperation will be more open. it's high time that countries of this sub continent forge some kind of economic and defense union on a patnership basis, otherwise outside countries will keep treating us clients or slaves.

So now it seems that NATO has made an exit deal with CAR countries. This is definitely to put pressure on Pakistan. This also means a major deal has been struck with the Russians. Are Russian-NATO ties better than what it seems? What concessions have been provided to Russia that it has agreed to withdrawal of NATO military hardware as well?
