Agartala, Sep 8 (PTI) Six Indian tribals who had crossed the Indo-Bangla border in Sabroom sub-division of South Tripura district two and half months ago have been returned by Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), police said today.

BDR pushed back six Indian tribals including two women who had mistakenly crossed the Indian territory and entered Bangladesh on June 21, they said.

Border Security Force personnel received them at the Muhurighat checkpost in South Tripura district.

The tribals complained that Bangladeshi villagers detained them, beat them up and then handed over to police.

However, they told the police that BDR and Bangladesh police behaved well with them.

Tripura has 856 km-long porous border with Bangladesh.

BSF arrest five Pakistani nationals from creek area in Kutch - India - NEWS - The Times of India

AHMEDABAD: Five Pakistani nationals have been arrested from creek area on west coast of Kutch district by the Border Security Force (BSF), police
said today.

The incident took place yesterday, they said, adding the boat in which they were travelling has also been seized.

According to police, the boat carrying the five persons onboard had ventured into the creek area following which they were arrested by the BSF.

They are being brought to joint interrogation center in Bhuj for questioning, they added.

Last week, five Pakistani men onboard a boat were arrested from the International Marine Border (IMB) near Jakhau in the district.

BSF officials said post 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, the sensitivity of the creek region has increased, and hence patrolling in the region has been intensified.

Harami Nala, a sluggish and shallow water channel in the remotest creek area, spread over 500 sq km is prone to intrusion from Pakistani fishermen, they said.

The marshy topography made it difficult for BSF troops to react swiftly against infiltration, officials added

Seven Pak fishermen apprehended off Jakhau coast

Ahmedabad, Oct 6 (PTI) Seven Pakistani fishermen were arrested today from Indian territorial waters in Arabian sea off Jahkau coast in Kutch district, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) officials said here.

"We have apprehended seven fishermen and seized their boat Al-Saroj from near the Jhakau coast," the officials told PTI.

"They were held as they had ventured into Indian waters," they said, adding that the seven men were being brought to Okha and likely to reach by tomorrow.

According to ICG officials, nothing suspicious have been found in the boat. "Further investigation in the matter will be done after they reach Okha," they said.

Yesterday, the Border Security Force had arrested five Pakistani fishermen from Deveri Creek area. The BSF suspects that one of the fishermen is associated with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and it is probing the link.
