Re: Hate India campaign in Britain by Britishers of Pak origin

Just a day ago some Pakiphile was lecturing us about how Pakis don't hate us as much as we hate them. Atleast we are not the ones forming little Paki hate clubs.

British Muslims express 'disgust' over Modi invite to UK
PTI | Aug 15, 2013, 03.52 PM IST

LONDON: A group of Indian Muslims in the UK has expressed its "utter disgust" over an invitation for Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi to visit Britain.

In an open letter addressed to ministers and political party leaders, the Council of Indian Muslims UK (CIM-UK) said, "This move will encourage extremism in India, will set a dangerous precedent in British politics and will go down in history as yet another shameful blunder by British politicians ..."

The India groups of the country's two main political parties had issued formal invitations last week for the Gujarat chief minister to visit the UK.

The letter written by the chairman of the CIM-UK, Munaf Zeena, was addressed to UK foreign secretary William Hague, home secretary Theresa May, Conservative party chairmen Grant Shapps and Andrew Feldman, and Opposition Labour party leader Ed Miliband.

Barry Gardiner MP, chairman of the Labour Friends of India, made headlines recently for his invite to Modi to speak at an event at the House of Commons on 'The Future of Modern India'.

His letter was followed up by the Conservative Friends of India co-chairman, Sailesh Vara MP, who also expressed his party's wish to meet the chairman of the BJP's national election committee.

"We are not unaware of a powerful BJP lobby, supported by Barry Gardiner, the Labour MP from Brent North, doing PR work for Modi in UK. In fact in his election campaign Mr Gardiner even shamelessly published a testimonial from Modi on his website claiming, 'Gujarat has no greater friend in Britain than Barry Gardiner'," the CIM-UK's letter goes on.

"We fail to express our utter sense of disappointment and disgust at these overtures by British MPs and earnestly request you to review your policies and restrain these MPs from supporting the Nero and Hitler of our time," it concludes.

Gardiner has vehemently stood by his decision to invite the BJP leader, who he describes as a politician "who cannot be ignored".

The UK government, like the US, had distanced itself from Modi in the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat riots until late last year when the British high commissioner to India, James Bevan, made diplomatic overtures towards the Gujarat chief minister.

@ashdoc took a little too much liberty with the headlines. This was done by Mr. Munaf Zeena the head of Council of Indian Muslims and CAN (Campaign against Narendra Modi)

What an irony, these same so called Muslims are silent when 400+ people are butchered in the Egypt...

I saw few Muslims crying when they hear that Saddam was smoked out like a rat"¦ that same Saddam was responsible for gassing 20,000 Muslin Kurds children & women"¦

In a free country it is OK for British Muslims to express disgust over someone else. I guess it is OK for others to be equally disgusted by British Muslims no? No need to worry about peoples feelings and opinions.

Radicals have understood that the Islamic extremism and hypocrisy wont be tolerated in Modi's reign, which is scaring them, hence all this "disgust". I am happy with their disgust.

Not everybody who opposes Modi is an extremist. Modi himself has extreme views. Its a shame that labour is involved in all these, the last party you will expect to do so.

Imagined fears work behind such "disgust", when people fail to change themselves they start to oppose anything which proposes to oppose their wrong ways, so this much of opposition for Modi, and this opposition doesn't make Modi a wrong person.

Expressing disgust over anything and everything except pro-Jihadi preachers is a fundamental characteristic of these "radicals".

Yes, invading a country that hasn't attacked UK and killing thousands of people because the head honcho feels "it's a right thing to do" is very normal. But if a Hindu dares to say that he is a Hindu nationalist, he is "extreme". British hypocrisy is as much intact as it was in the time of Churchill.

Will you say the same if a british political party invites Hafiz Saeed ... the guy has a history behind him, lots of allegation against him. What was the need to invite him. Let him be the PM first.

Modi wont be able to stop terrorism, terrorism does not stop by talking or shouting about it. BJP govt was in power too.
