MP to get its first ITBP modern weapon training centre

Indo Tibetan Border Police's (ITBP) first modern weapon training centre in Madhya Pradesh will be established in Batiagarh area here, Damoh MP Prahlad Patel said. "ITBP's Weapon and Support Weapon Training Centre will be the first of its kind in the state and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has issued orders to set up in Damoh," Patel told reporters yesterday in the presence of MP finance minister Jayant Mallaiya. The leaders said that with the approval of this modern weapon training centre, the entire region will develop at a faster pace. The centre will be set up with an estimated cost of Rs Rs 2,100 crore in an area spreading across 1,800 acres between Batigarh and Fatehgarh, he said. Patel said there was also a proposal to set up the centre in Mirzapur in UP but the Home Minister decided in favour of Batiagarh in Damoh. The newly recruited constables of ITBP will be given training at the centre for operating all kinds of small and big weapons including cannons capable of firing up to 5- km range and sten guns. Currently, a similar training centre is operational in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

After starting use of technologies (which we possessed before also but UPA never used), intrusion has reduced significantly from paki side.
Hope this tech can wipe our bangla(not Indian Bengali) pussies from India forever.

ANOTHER convoy hit, this has happened to the security forces (IA, CRPF, BSF) how many times in JK and the NE in the past 18 months? This is becoming all too predictable- the terrorists are hitting blatently "soft" targets; unarmoured buses and troop trucks. Why the f*ck are security forces being moved around in known "hot zones" in soft skin vehicles?? They are an obvious target and the terrorists are clearly wise to this and are hitting them again and again and AGAIN.

This is classic gorilla warfare, they can't face the security forces head on so hit them at their weakest but the security establishment keep presenting them with the same target over and over- it's criminal! These poor chaps don't have a single centimetre of armoured protection when they are travelling in those buses/trucks. The current SOP is to have a "road opening party" (in armoured vehicles) to accompany these (unarmoured) troop transports but there is an obvious flaw in this method- once the road opening party has passed on by the terrorists can wait in the kill zone for the easy targets, and simply mow down those poor guys.

When traveling in these hot zones every single security man should be in full combat gear (including with their PPE) AND in an armoured vehicle.

This pattern is all too clear to see...

@abingdonboy, it is "guerilla warfare," not "gorilla warfare."

For the rest of your post, yes, indeed, they need to use vehicles that offer more protection, like the UralAZ-Mahindra MPVs used by Jharkhand Police.

I think the recent lull in violence in J&K made the forces complacent.

NATIONAL SECURITY - ITBP: The Secret Weapon

This is a second episode focused on Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) -- India’s best combat army trained for mountain & jungle warfare. This part contains rare footage shot at the eastern most part of India where ITBP is battling against all odds that nature can erect. Also in this episode, a feature on the no. 1 military canine charge on this planet, the famous ITBP’s Belgian Malinois dog squad, a brute strain of a police dog that is crossed with wolf.
