This book on Karna, the son of Surya and the 6th Pandava, written from the PoV of Karna sheds light on one of the most unfortunate and misunderstood character of Mahabharata.
This is probably the most enlivening book on Mahabharata anyone will ever read. I highly recommend it.

Mahabharata Vol 1 by Bibek Debroy

A modern translation of the Classical Mahabharata. It is based on the texts approved and decided by a panel of Sanskrit experts so unfortunately many well known (folk) stories are missing from it. Nevertheless an eminently readable English translation of possibly the most epic epic ever written.

FYI: Volume 1 starts off with a lot of background, segues, and prelude text so it requires a bit extra patience.

Anybody into comics? I recently started reading the original Watchmen comic book I got from Amazon. Its more intelligent than most other comic book stories and might interest military buffs due to it being set during the 1980's invasion of Afghanistan (where Nixon is dictator of USA)...the movie was released around ten years ago, but one should also read the comic.

Deception: Pakistan, the United States, and the secret by Adrian levy

Finally finished reading this engrossing book, 1400+ pages.

Take away messages:

US Administration (both Democrats and Republicans) screwed entire world, UK, France and other European govt.s danced and enjoyed the show.

Some of the US diplomats such as Zbigniew Brzezinski played vital role in protecting Paki Army Generals and shaping up US policy which was against India!

US and European govt.s knew all along what Paki's were upto and how they managed to steal nuclear tech, blue prints etc... they deliberately ignored every attempt to contain Paki nuclear proliferation saga.

On Paki side, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto first started Paki nuclear program when A Q Khan approached Paki govt saying that, he can help build a bomb and he has access to advanced technology to enrich Uranium, subsequently after lot of background checks by ISI, Bhutto recruited A Q Khan.

Later General Zia took over the program and enhanced it. Once a loyal servant of Bhutto, A Q Khan didn't even flinch and switched sides and he pledged his loyalty to Zia.

Chinese helped Paki's with the bomb design, in return Paki Army Generals supplied Uranium Enrichment centrifuge blueprints (which was stolen from URENCO by AQ Khan) to Chinese.

Saudi's and Muammar Gaddafi of Libya helped Paki uranium enrichment program by funding it with petro dollars.

Paki's tested their first nuclear bomb in China in the year 1984.

Later on Paki's sold Uranium enrichment tech and equipment's to Iran, North Korea and Syria. Paki's tried to sell it to Saddam Hussain but the deal didn't go through.

Benazir Bhutto re-established the bilateral relationship with NoKo which was dormant and procured No-Dong ballistic missiles from them. 30+ No-Dongs were shipped to Pakistan in ready to fire condition and missile design blue prints were also given to Pakistan. Paki morons couldn't crack the complexities of the No-Dong missile design and were unable to perfect the re-production. During that time, India had mastered the ballistic missile tech and had already test fired Agni and Prathvi missiles. Pakis's were itching for the dick measuring contest with India. They re-painted readily available No-Dong,re-named it as Ghouri and test fired even before the paint could dry :D AQ Khan named the No-Dong as Ghouri.

Paki's were almost bankrupt and didn't have $$$$s to pay for NoKo. To compensate NoKo for their No-Dongs, Paki's sold Uranium Enrichment blueprints and equipment's to them.

Later on each and every missile Paki's produced were supplied by Chinese. M-11 was the first Chinese missile in Paki inventory.

Germany, UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, Sudan, South Africa, USA and Dubai - govt.s, crooks and companies from these countries were involved in Paki nuclear proliferation business.

Intelligence reports from Mossad and RA&W were repeatedly ignored.

Plan for Pre-emptive strike on Paki nuclear plant at Kahuta by India and Israel was sabotaged by CIA. It's an hoax that, Morarji Desai sabotaged the plan... Perhaps CIA spread this fake news which Indian media picked up during that time.

Paki Army Generals such as Zia ul haq, Jahangir Karamat, Mirza aslam Baig, Hamid Gul and Parvez Musharraf and countless other Paki Army big shots were the drivers of this entire dirty proliferation business.

Hamid Gul, chief of ISI once upon a time hatched a plan of "War of Thousand Cut's against India", created terrorist churning factories all across Pakistan, Afghanistan and PoK and else where... and the subsequent radical Paki COAS continued to carry the mantle...

Parvez Musharraf created and nurtured Taliban...

A Q Khan is not a saint but at the end of the day he was also was made as a scapegoat, Paki Army sacrificed the scientists who had built Paki Nuclear bomb... ( A Q Khan confession drama on Paki TV)

It's said that, from Kahuta enrichment plant some 40 odd canisters which contained enriched uranium were stolen by Army guys and till today, no one knows what had happened to them. Some speculations are that, those canisters reached to their destination either in Iran or North Korea or some of them are still with Al Qaeda... Al Qaeda, even if they have enriched uranium, they haven't mastered the art yet on how to use it. The day when Al Qaeda learns about weaponizing the enriched uranium, world can expect a show which will be 100 times spectacular than 9/11 attacks.

US knew that, OBL was hiding in Pakistan but they couldn't get him extradited through Paki Generals. (BTW, this books was published in the year 2007)

Author says.. as the name of the book itself suggests, how US president's of different era deceived US citizens and entire world with their deception and the deception still continues unabated...

If you get time and are interested in geopolitics, diplomacy, war, history, conspiracies etc... it's a must read book.

No, I didn't.

I should have done that... there are lot more stuff in that book which generally is not published anywhere...
i look forward to buy it...
how would you have made the notes? any idea? i am seriously after my personal 'notes-taking' & 'info-archiving' project & at my wit's end how or from where to start, so seeking ideas.

BTW, saw you posting in a long time.

Replying to this thread after a long time, hope you are aroud.

If you have a ebook copy, making notes is quite easy. You can use Kindle and it has feature for highlighting the text and you can make notes. When you finish up a book, you can summarize the notes at one place in chronological order.

On PC/Laptop, you may use ebook reader Calibre and start making notes.
