Heavy Bomber After the first world war the Heavy Bombers developed as heaviest in terms of weight and with largest of size and larger amount of ordnance carried of approximate 4 Ton and longest range, bomber aircraft. The open cockpit and wooden frame became extinct very quickly. The United States revolutioanlised the idea of Gun Turrets with having at least 10 Canons or Guns, during the World War 2, with tail turrets and side gun ports with a .50 Caliber Machine Gun from a simple window or glass cockpit. While British designs used 3 Gun Turrets with 8 Guns. While the USA used ball turrets for dorsal (Top of the Aircraft) and Ventral(Under Aircraft ) Gun Turrets for effective fire coverage to the Heavy Bombers and defence of the Bomber Aircrafts , however , the British Heavy Bombers used evasive maneuvers to defend them. However other countries including Germany, Japan and Soviets had some effective designs.
