A woman died in an explosion on a train at the Chennai central railway station this morning. 10 people have been injured.

The blast reportedly took place at around 7:30 am on the Bangalore-Guwahati Express, which was at the platform 9 of the station. The train had just arrived when the blast took place, reportedly between the S4 and S5 coaches. A 40-year-old woman was reportedly killed on the spot.

Both these coaches have been badly damaged.

The nature of the blast is not known yet.

The station has now been cordoned off and is teeming with police personnel. Sniffer dogs have been scouring the platforms. The injured have been taken to the Rajiv Gandhi government hospital nearby.

It seems the bomb blast was meant to occur outside the station, i.e en route to Andhra, but since the train was delayed by 1.5 hours, it exploded here.

Comes just after news of an ISI fellow being nabbed yesterday.

The bomb might triggered by a mobile phone..Two months before IB gave a red alert on possible of terror attack in chennai bangalore and hyderabad. The good thing the train was late otherwise the causality would be high in a moving train.

Key Points

Since the train arrived in Chennai approximately 1 hour 25 minutes late, the question arises whether the capital city of Tamil Nadu was actually the target. Had the train been on time, the explosion could have taken place near Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), where BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally today

According to reports, police have found the suspect hiding in a compartment of the train. Unconfirmed reports suggest that explosives were strapped to his body. He is currently being questioned in police custody.

one more point remaining , pakistans home minister opposed modi's statement and next day a attack on city where his rally is taking place

RIP the young victim. It was a tragic loss for the family and it struck them like a bolt from the blue.

I had this thought of the target being Modi in the morning itself, its been in twitter since where I saw it first.
but i couldn't find a rally in nellore in India272+ schedule so I refrained from posting it.

Conspiracy may be or may not

why we always forgot Local JIHADI'S (if u know them they r as CRUEL as TALIBANS )
But i dont think its a ISI work very immature Blasts (small quantity used)
if the same bomb exploded in an running train, it would have caused more victims and causalities..

At last now its turned as a matter of Ego or prestige as who to investigate the case. NIA offered help but Tamilnadu chief secretary denied it.So this may affect the investigation and may go into the favor of terrorists, Even though the state police has knowledge, they are lack in the technical equipments(from the video, the forensic peoples collected the sample in the bare hands not even wearing the gloves,If they are not even capable of having hand gloves how can we expect other gadgets) i'm not blaming them its not their fault. Its time to stand unite and fight against them but the rulers playing political drama.
