QUETTA: At least four people were killed and 37 sustained injuries after four successive blasts rocked the provincial capital within a short span of time on Tuesday, Geo News reported.

As per initial reports, the first blast was reported from Gwalmandi area, the second explosion ripped through Jinnah Town, while the third one hit Gordat Singh area, which has long history of sectarian and ethnic violence. The police said that five people were injured in Gwalmandi.

A fourth explosion that struck near Khuda-e-Dad Chowk in Nechari Colony within an hour of three earlier back-to-back blasts, according to police, left at least four people including an Frontier Corps personnel dead and scores more injured.

Reportedly heavy shooting also followed the blast, which the police said was a suicide one.

A Frontier Corps check post nearby was the apparent target of the suicide attack.

The Nechari area has plunged into darkness since the blast as it left many power lines broken-down.

KARACHI: Two persons lost their lives while 18 others sustained wounds after a powerful blast ripped through a bus stop near Peopleâ€™s Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area here Tuesday night.

According to sources, the blast targeted a Muttahida Qaumi Movementâ€™s (MQM) election camp set up in the area ahead of May 11 general elections.

The injured have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where a few of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.

The powerful blast shattered the window panes of the buildings surrounding the site of the tragic incident in Karachi - the provincial capital and commercial hub of Pakistan.

The initial reports say the blast took place when explosives strapped to a motorcycle went off.

Earlier, a string of bomb blasts ripped through Quetta - the provincial capital of Balochistan â€“ killing at least two people and injuring several others.
