At least seven people were killed and several people, including a senior political leader, were wounded on Saturday when an explosion ripped through a busy neighbourhood in Peshawar in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour was critically injured in the attack, hospital officials said. Police and hospital officials confirmed that at least seven people, including a police SHO and Bilour’s personal secretary, were killed in the blast in the Dhaki Nalbandi area near the busy Qissa Khwani Bazaar. A senior official of Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital confirmed that Bilour was critically wounded with injuries to the chest and stomach. The senior minister is being currently being treated in the operation theatre, said the senior hospital official. According to details, the blast took place when Awami National Party (ANP) workers and senior leader Bilour had congregated for a party meeting. At least 15 people were also wounded in the blast. There were reports of the attack being suicide blast, however, police could not confirm details regarding the nature of the explosion. Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound ANP should take revenge and put Karachi on fire.
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound By some estimates the Pashtun population of Karachi is beginning to challenge the Muhajir population in size - so I am not sure what 'putting Karachi on fire' would accomplish. In addition, the TTP (composed largely from Pashtun Tribes in FATA) has accepted responsibility for the attack, so how exactly does 'putting Karachi on fire' help the ANP in 'taking revenge'?
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound ANP is not weak in Karachi. They are at par with MQM. karachi is stage where MQM and ANP will play their part..remember Shakespeare and we will enjoy the drama

Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound That is essentially what I said in my post above when I pointed out that the Pashtun population in Karachi is approaching the Muhajir population in size. I did not suggest that the ANP was weak, to the contrary, I was pointing out that the increasing Pashtun population in Karachi would increase the political influence of the ANP, if it contines to win the majority of the Pashtun vote in the city. And since the ANP is gowing in influence, it has a lot to loose in sparking violence in Karachi, since such violence could slow down the flow of Pashtun immigrants to Karachi. The MQM, however, would have little to lose in sparking violence since they have no 'fresh source of Muhajir immigrants' to add to their vote bank in Karachi. The MQM only stands to lose influence and votes going forward, given the recent demographic changes, and therefore might see an advantage in sparking violence in Karachi since it would present an image of a dangerous and unstable city and slow down the migration of other ethnic groups to the city. While you are free to express your hatred and desire to bask in schadenfreude, I must point out that you have not answered my previous question of why you believe the ANP would spark violence in Karachi, given that the TTP, which has accepted the suicide bombing killing Bilour, is based in FATA and Afghanistan?
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound Wait for few days my friend u will get answer.keep on watching geo and arynews
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound I have no problems waiting, but since you are convinced that the ANP will 'spark violence in Karachi' I would like to know the rationale behind your strong belief. Merely waiting for violence to occur in Karachi does not prove anything - Karachi is already a pretty violent city with surges of violence frequently.
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound Good. Been a few days since we heard of any major attacks in Pakiland. Although its a shame that most of these attacks are still concentrated in and around Peshawar or NWFP area. When is Lahore or Islamabad going to see some action?
Re: Blast in Peshawar kills 7; senior minister Bilour critically wound ^^Of course. I would think it's a no-brainer! It's really been a slow news week (or month) in Pakiland recently. I miss the big headlines, "Benazir assassinated", "Swat Valley captured by TTP", "Bin Laden killed", "Attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore", "Karachi on Fire" etc. Now we have to make do with this instead....
