Blast at Agra hospital, at least 8 injured
Agra: An explosion has been reported near the reception area of Jai Hospital on Sikandra Road here.
Six people have been injured in the explosion that took place around 6 pm today. However, the nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
The explosive material is believed to have been kept under the seats in the lobby area. The people waiting at the reception area are the ones who received injuries.
While initial reports suggested that it may have been an oxygen cylinder blast, one of the doctors of the hospital, Manvendra Sharma, said no such cylinder is installed at the reception.
Some media reports suggested that there is a possibility of explosives being used in the blast. Questioning is on whether some outsider came into the hospital and left the explosive in the reception area and then slipped out. Unfortunately, no CCTV is installed in the hospital.
Meanwhile, a bomb squad and police officials have reached the spot and cordoned off the area and evacuated the hospital.
Anti Terrorist Squad and forensic experts team have also reached the hospital and are conducting investigations.
