One cannot just fly drones anywhere and everywhere.

Even if one requires to fly it for public purpose, the reason, flight path etc has to be cleared from the relevant authorities.

I presume that is so for any part of the world.

Its a security risk, a small bomb can be used as a payload to carry on those drones, no wonder u were detained. I think in open spaces they wouldn't mind.

I doubt they'll let you get away flying a quad 100 feet away from the Washington monument. Forbidden City is China's national monument. No wonder this idiot got detained.

RC flight hobbyists in US usually have defined flying fields, but these quadcopters are changing that.
