Because of past behavior of US regimes towards India ..it will take a long time to bring the trust back....there can not be a sudden change as memeories are still fresh of last few decades. But, slowly and gradually, US and India may come closer down the road.

Obama in India: 7 engagements on Sunday : Obama in India, News - India Today

US President Barack Obama, who arrives here Sunday on a three-day state visit, has a packed schedule right from the moment the presidential plane, Air Force One, lands in New Delhi at 10 a.m. Obama, who will be accompanied by his wife Michelle, and a high-level delegation, has seven engagements on Sunday, including talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Air Force One would touch down at the Air Force Station, Palam, at 10 a.m. The presidential entourage would then drive down to the ITC Maurya, where the US first couple would be staying. The super luxury hotel has been made out of bounds for other guests till the duration of the visit and a stringent security blanket thrown around the hotel and its surrounding areas.

The presidential car, The Beast, has also arrived in the capital. A Cadillac limousine, The Beast's armour plating is said to be eight inches thick and its doors weigh as much as those on a Boeing 757 aircraft. It has five-inch thick bulletproof windows with at least five layers to foil any effort by subversives.

The Beast's trunk is reported to contain everything from firefighting equipment and oxygen tanks to a cache of the president's blood type. Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal as minister-in-waiting for the visit would receive Obama at the airport as well as escort and assist him through the visit.

It is not yet known if Prime Minister Narendra Modi would go to the airport to receive the Obamas. At noon, the US president would be accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be present.

At 12.30 p.m., Obama would go to the Raj Ghat to lay a wreath at the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. He would also plant a sapling at the venue. At 1 p.m., Obama will attend a luncheon meeting with Modi at Hyderabad House. At 2.15 p.m., the two sides are to hold delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House and at 3.05 p.m., the two leaders would address the media at the Ballroom of the venue.

At 7.30 p.m., Obama would call on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan and attend the banquet hosted by the president at 8 p.m. The banquet would see some special cuisine dished up for the US president and formal speeches by the two presidents. In between the Hyderabad House talks and his visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Obama is to head back to the hotel and meet the staff of the US mission here.

On Monday, Obama would proceed to Rajpath to attend the Republic Day parade as chief guest at 10 a.m. He is the first US president to be chief guest at the Republic Day pageantry during which India's military might and cultural diversity are showcased in a two-hour open air event. It is not known if Obama would drive to Rajpath in Mukherjee's black limousine or in The Beast. The US Secret Service is believed to be unwilling to allow the US president to travel in any other vehicle other than The Beast.

At 3.49 p.m., Obama would attend the traditional "At Home" reception hosted by Mukherjee on the expansive lawns of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event will be attended by senior politicians, diplomats, envoys and intellectuals.

At 5.30 p.m. Obama and Modi are to address the India-US CEO Forum Meeting at the Shahjehan Hall of Hotel Taj Palace.

At 6.40 p.m., the two leaders are to attend the India-US Business Summit at the Durbar Hall of Taj Palace. There have been reports that the Obamas are keen to eat at the Bukhara restaurant. Obama had stayed at the Maurya during his previous trip in 2010 and had relished an Indian style dinner.

On Jan 27 (Tuesday), Obama would address an invited gathering at the Siri Fort auditorium at 10.30 a.m. on the subject "India and America: The future we can build together". He was to have flown to Agra after the event, but that leg of the visit has been cancelled.

At 1.50 p.m., the US president and his entourage would take off for Riyadh to condole the death of Saudi King Abdullah.

So two things about the nuke deal:

he says the U.S wants perpetual inspections, at these nuclear facilities.

And it seems U.S is okay with removing the tracking clause:

More info on this:
India, US move forward with major breakthrough in N-deal - The Times of India
India and US successfully finalized terms and conditions for operationalizing their 2008 civil nuclear cooperation agreement in what was the most significant takeaway from US President Barack Obama's summit meet with PM Narendra Modi Sunday. Even as Modi and Obama continued with their meeting here at Hyderabad House, official sources said the US had agreed to withdraw its "highly intrusive" demand for tracking of nuclear material sourced even from third countries for use in reactors supplied by US companies.

This single issue threatened to derail the talks held last week by the nuclear contact group and the 2 sides left it to Obama and Modi to decide themselves what they wanted from the agreement which has remained stuck for the past 7 years. What clinched it for both countries was Obama's decision to use his executive powers to waive off this condition imposed by US negotiators. The US will go only by IAEA inspection of India's use of nuclear material and equipment, as per the agreement reached.

The administrative arrangements which the US sought in the London meeting of the contact group had turned into a real hurdle even though the meeting saw considerable progress over the liability issue. While a formal announcement is still awaited, the US has agreed to India's proposal to build an insurance pool to provide cover to suppliers who shunned the civil nuclear agreement because it made them liable to pay compensation in the event of a nuclear accident through a right of recourse provided by section 17 (b) of India's 2010 nuclear liability law.

The 2 countries are also seeking to address concerns over section 46 of the same law which makes suppliers vulnerable tort claims. This section empowers ordinary citizens to file tort claims against suppliers, something which is seen by the US industry as opening US companies to potentially unlimited liability.

The development is likely to be touted as a major achievement by the Modi government as the 2 countries can now move to effect civil nuclear "within the framework of law" and without having to dilute the liability law. The civil nuclear cooperation with the US could never really take off in the past 7 years because of differences over liability and administrative issues despite India having alloted sites to US companies in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.

Was just going thru foreign secretary's press statement and Tech sharing part caught my eye, Listed items are as follows:
On defence and security, we have finalised the Defence Framework Agreement for the next ten years. Under the Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI), four projects have been agreed on as pathfinder projects:
(1) next generation Raven Minis UAVs,
(2) roll on roll off kits for C-130s,
(3) mobile electric hybrid power source,
(4) Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble Increment II.
We have also agreed on a working group to explore aircraft carrier technology, sharing and design, and also development of jet engine technology.

i am not that interested on Raven mini UAV's because they cost 35000 USD each and prone to crashes so as per me it is a dud. I like the items 3 and 4.

Mobile Electric Hybrid Power Sources (MEHPS):

At the Experimental Forward Operating Base (ExFOB) demonstration conducted during the summer of 2010, the Marine Corps evaluated and then deployed to Afghanistan the first ever hybrid power system. This highly successful deployment of hybrid power led to the initiation of the Mobile Electric Hybrid Power Sources (MEHPS) Analysis of Alternatives (AoA). MEHPS is conceived to be a non-grid-tied smart power system with output ranging from 300W to 800kW. The results of the MEHPS AoA are expected to define the Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and Key System Attributes (KSAs) of the future MEHPS family of systems. Ultimately, these hybrid systems will augment traditional generators on the battlefield and are expected to yield significant fuel savings, increase combat capability, "lighten the load," and reduce the risks to deliver logistics on the battlefield.

Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble Increment II. :

The U. S. Army Contracting Command-APG(SCRT), Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the Joint Program Office for Chemical and Biological Defense, Joint Project Manager- Protection, has a requirement for a Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble Increment 1 (UIPE I1). The UIPE I1 will be a single supplemental system that will provide enhanced individual protective capabilities to the warfighter through reduction of psychological, physiological and heat stress associated with garment thermal burden, weight and bulk. It is not intended to replace currently fielded CB garments but will provide an alternative lightweight capability for selected missions. The UIPE I1 will provide protection from CB warfare agents to include retaining protection after exposure to Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (POL) and other environmental contaminants. The garment will be suitable for wear while performing combat operations, whether on land or at sea, in any climate, with minimal impact on combat effectiveness. It will be designed to permit efficient communications and be compatible with current and developmental protective component systems. It will also be compatible with current and developmental clothing and equipment including load-bearing equipment, helmets (i.e., cranial protection), handwear, footwear, body cooling systems, and protective masks of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) and the US Navy (USN). Complete UIPE I1 performance requirements will be delineated in a detailed System Performance Specification (SPS).
