Border Security Force of India always alert and many times this forces catches red handed huge fake currencies from bangladeshi touts during early morning hours. interesting joke is how they are managed to get currencies papers from Bureau Officers. Pakistan and Bangladesh both helping to developed more fake currencies and trying to crossed from Bangladesh to india (mainly west bengal). this is a serious matter for Revenue Department of india.
Indian forces must start hard talk with pakistan and bangladesh counterpart to stop fake indian currency notes from cross border.

No way. We love beef as those in W Bengal. Many Hindu Bengalis - and I said many, eat beef too; on both sides of the border. Non-Muslims constitute about 8% of our population. This number is depleting for various reasons - biological being the main. That means, Hindus in BD are about 8 mlln, assuming they are half of non-Muslims here.

The Hindu population in Bangladesh under accounted for ... Its is 20 million if not more out of which 2+ million from India itself having dual residency...

Some Hindus take Buffalo meat which is fine... It is very rare Hindus taking beef ...

....but here is excerpts from a book by Madhuri Bose, Sarat Bose's grand niece.
A book by Madhuri Bose, grand niece of the famed Bose brothers, has thrown new light on the 'United Bengal' plan .
The architect of the plan was Sarat Chandra Bose, a top-ranking Congress leader and elder brother of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The book, ‘The Bose Brothers and Indian Independence’ by the grand niece of Sarat Bose, provides detailed documentation on the 'Free and United Bengal’ plan, including letters exchanged between Sarat Bose, M.A . Jinnah, Gandhi and other Congress leaders as well as British officials, including the Viceroy, Lord Mountbatten.

The bold plan to keep Bengal free from Partition on religious lines emerged from a draft agreement, piloted by Sarat Bose, on May 20, 1947 between leaders of the Bengal Congress and the Muslim League.

"Gandhiji initially encouraged the plan but later betrayed Sarat Bose and went back on his earlier promise. Nehru, Patel and other Congress leaders vehemently opposed the plan from the very beginning while MA Jinnah said he would go along with the plan if the British and the Congress accepted it," says Madhuri Bose.

The May 20 draft agreement said in its preamble that "Bengali Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Buddhists have a common mother tongue and are bound by racial, social, cultural, economic and other ties and a free and united Bengal where they can fully cooperate with one another is essential for their social, economic and political progress".

The plan revolved round the formation of an interim ministry comprising 16 Muslim and 14 Hindu members to pilot the Constitution of a 'Free and United Bengal.'

The draft agreement noted, "Bengal will be a free state and will later decide the question of joining any Union by a two-thirds majority of the Free Bengal legislature."

Madhuri Bose says her grandfather Sarat Bose was an ardent nationalist and opposed the partition of India.

"But when he realised that Partition was inevitable, he decided to rescue Bengal from the tragedy and keep it outside the purview of Partition. He aimed at the creation of three post-colonial states — India, Pakistan, United Socialist Republic of Bengal."

Bose later blamed the Congress more than the Muslim League for Partition.

"He told the Bose family that the Congress High Command's refusal to enter into an electoral understanding with the Krishak Praja Party of Sher-e-Bangla Fazlul Haque before 1937 Provincial Council polls was a colossal blunder.

“He also felt the Congress leaders were in a hurry for power in 1947 and were thus endorsing everything that they should have opposed," Madhuri Bose said during the launch of her book, published by Sage this week.

Other historians of India's partition have said before that Jinnah was even willing to reconsider his Partition plans in 1947 if the Bose brothers took over the leadership of the Congress.

According to them, he was reluctant to deal with Nehru, Patel and the other Congress leaders.

There must be multiple agencies working independently for this to succeed. Each of them must act as a watchdog against the other to make sure there is no lapse. If one agency has an exclusive control over operations, there is a risk of complacency and infiltration.

With million of illegals flooding into India, I wonder how alert our BSF is. Certainly not all, but many are involved in all sorts of rackets. There are agents that smuggle people into India from BD. These agents receive a lot of money from these migrants, and much of the money goes to those that facilitate the trans-border journey. Another part of the money goes to the local officials and panchayats who assist in creating fake ration cards. This has been going on for decades.

All your points are correct, but alas, I find you in minority among Indian members in this forum. A point I wish to add. My own research says that Netaji would have taken over leadership of USRB coming out of his underground cell. USRB on the one hand would have been a prosperous and progressive country, and on the other hand would have led the way to peace, love and amity in SA. That's why the British colonials had the idea killed using their local stooges.

With so much insider info, I wonder if you yourself is not personally involved in these "rackets"?

Islam retains status of state religion

Islam retains status of state religion as the High Court on Monday, March 28, 2016, rejects petition filed 28 years ago challenging its legality. Star file photo

Star Online Report
Islam retained the status of state religion with the High Court today rejecting a writ petition challenging the legality of a constitutional provision in this regard.
Fifteen distinguished citizens filed the writ petition with the HC in 1988 challenging the amendment that gave "Islam" the status of state religion.
The petitioners have no jurisdiction to move such a petition, the HC bench that binned the petition said while passing its ruling this afternoon.
The bench comprised of Justice Naima Haider, Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal.
Following the writ petition, the HC on June 11, 2011 issued a rule upon the government to explain why the part of the eighth amendment to the constitution that had made "Islam" state religion should not be declared illegal. It also invited 12 amici curiae to hear their opinions.
The amici curiae were Dr Kamal Hossain, TH Khan, Mahmudul Islam, M Amir-Ul Islam, Rafique-ul Huq, Dr M Zahir, Rokanunddin Mahmud, Ajmalul Hossain, Fida M Kamal, Yusuf Hossain Humayun, AFM Mejbahuddin and Abdul Matin Khasru. Later on, Dr M Zahir and Mahmudul Islam died.
The government did not respond to the June 11 rule.
On June 30, 2011, the parliament passed a bill on the constitution's 15th amendment retaining Islam's status as state religion. The amendment, however, restored "secularism" as one of the four fundamental principles of the state which had been omitted by a martial law regime after the 1975 bloody changeover.
Following an application filed by the writ petitioners, the HC in December 2011 issued a supplementary rule asking the government to explain why the part of the 15th amendment to the constitution that gave "Islam" the status of state religion should not be declared illegal.
The counsel said there was no scope to keep "Islam" as state religion after the Supreme Court had declared illegal the fifth amendment to the constitution and restored "secularism" in the constitution.
The government led by military ruler HM Ershad had inserted a section in the eighth amendment to the constitution making "Islam" state religion on June 9, 1988.
The writ petitioners were Begum Sufia Kamal, former chief justice Kemal Uddin Hossain, Khan Sarwar Murshid, Prof Kabir Chowdhury, Prof Dr Mosharraf Hossain, Maj Gen (retd) Chitta Ranjan Datta (Bir Uttam), Prof Serajul Islam Choudhury, Badaruddin Umar, journalist Faiz Ahmed, Dr Borhan Uddin Khan Jahangir, Prof Anisuzzaman, Justice Devesh Chandra Bhattacharjee, Justice KM Sobhan, Syed Istiaq Ahmed, and Kalim Sharafi.
Ten of them including Begum Sufia Kamal and Justice Kemal Uddin Hossain have already died, said the petitioner's lawyer Afric, adding that the petition was included in the hearing list of the three-member HC bench yesterday, as the chief justice recently assigned the bench for its hearing.
The lawyer, however, declined to say why the 1988 petition was heard for the first time in 2011 and why the petitioner's counsel applied to the chief justice last year so that the HC hears it now.
