100 Jamat activists joined AL in Chuadanga.
CHUADANGA, Sept 1 (BSS)-A total of 100 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami of Dewly village under Damurhuda upazila of the district formally joined Bangladesh Awami League yesterday.
The Jamaat activists joined the Awami League, being imbibed with the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at a function held at Dewly Sabuj Shangha club premises with Mahbubur Rahman in the chair.
Ali Asgor Togor, a local lawmaker, was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
The newly joined leaders of Jamat-e-Islami are school teacher Mahbubur Rahman, leading businessman Haji Liakot Ali, professor Rofiqul Islam and businessman Shafiqul Islam.
Mahfuzur Rahman, Secretary Damurhuda upazila Awami Leagur, Motiar Rahman, Secretary Darsana poura Awami League and local Awami League leaders Robiul Hossain, Azizul Hoque, Abdul Momin,Sirajul Islam and Abdur Razzak were present on the occasion.
