Bangalore madrassa teacher arrested for links with al-Qaeda
NEW DELHI: A madrassa teacher from Bangalore has been arrested by Delhi Police for suspected links with al-Qaeda, making it the fourth arrest in its ongoing operation against the terror outfit.

Maulana Anzar Shah was arrested in Bangalore by a team of Delhi Police's Special Cell on Wednesday following which he was brought to Delhi on transit remand and produced before a court yesterday which sent him to police custody till January 20, said a police official.

In December, Delhi Police had arrested three suspected operatives of al-Qaedamodule in the India sub-continent (AQIS).

While Mohammed Asif (41), the first one to be arrested, is believed to be one of the founding members and the Indian head (amir) of AQIS's motivation, recruitment and training wing, was held from Seelampur in northeast Delhi, another operative Abdul Rahman (37) was arrested from Jagatpur area of Cuttack in Odisha.

The third arrest, Zafar Masood, allegedly acted as a financier for the module. He was arrested from mohalla Deepa Sarai in UP's Sambhal district. They were all booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Shah, the latest arrest in connection with the module, had met Mohammed Asif at a religious congregation in Bangalore, following which he was introduced to Abdul Rahman and Zafar Masood.

He was asked to act as a provider of logistics support whenever the need arised, said an official privy to the investigation.

The Special Cell has evidence of communication between Shah, Abdul Rehman and Zafar Masood, too, mostly carried out through voice over internet protocol ( VoIP) services. The investigators have also traced a money trail connecting Shah and Masood, the official said.

A few more persons are presently under the police scanner and more arrests are likely, the official added.

AQIS was floated by al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahari himself in September 2014 following a meeting somewhere in Afghanistan-Pakistan region which reportedly had in its quorum the entire Grand Council (Arabian Shura) of al-Qaeda, including al-Zawahiri's son in law.

Despite several Indians being present at the training camp, Maulana Asim Umar alias Sanaul Haq and Mohammed Asif are believed to be the only Indians present in the council, police said.

After Umar was anointed the chief, it is believed that some unexpected visitors met him, including Indian Mujahideenchief Riyaz Bhatkal, who is still at large, and other senior IM commanders like Baba Sajid, who was recently reported to have been killed in Syria, police said.

Asif was Umar's chosen candidate and, with the help of his deputy Qasim, Umar had contacted Asif through a social networking site, a year before he left for Tehran on a 'ziyarat' visa, exclusively meant for visiting a holy shrine in Tehran.

Umar, Asif and Qasim are all natives of Sambhal in UP, police added.

Muslims living near western coast have developed frequent and direct contact with middle-east and have been influenced by Wahhabism a bit more in recent decades. Also they have very recent memory of Jihad against Hindus and a secularist-marxist machine helping them as much as it can.

Hopefully Saudi gets bankrupted in supporting all the Shia-Sunni proxy wars and stops funding madrassas in the subcontinent.

Guys, about 4% of Indian Muslims gets education in madarssa (about 33% for pakiland).
No doubt madarssaa are factory of jihadis.
I wont say that all the Madarssas teach Jihad or create terrorists, but yes radicalization happens there, which serves as a ground for Jihadi mentality later if provoked and out of these two the radicalizing Madrassas are harder to tackle hence more dangerous.

Well, it's pathetic that still in some parts of India, madarssas are run.
Is this a coincidence that 4% of Indian Muslims study in Madarssa and 4% are involved in riots, troubles and terrorism.
End madarssas and propagate school education. 4% is no very big no.. It must be eliminated immediately.

India must support Iranian Shias, Saudi Sunni pigs are radicalizing whole world. Shias are at least sensible as compared to Sunnis.

Compared to Sunnis, yes, but compared to humanity, no.

As a geostrategic compulsion, we can support Iran, being lesser of the two evils, purely by virtue of being an anti-Saudi counterbalance. But we must be under no impression that Iran takes any decision in the name of India-Iran friendship. I saw on Twitter, many people quote 'historic relationship' with Iran as a basis for our relationship; Not true. If the invasion and destruction of native Hindu cultures counts as 'historic relationship' then I'd love a historic divorce please. Shias are no less fanatic, it's just that because their attention is focused on a dominating global Sunni movement, they *seem* to be less hostile towards us. But have no doubt, had that distraction not existed, they would have pointed their knives at our throats already.

Is this a coincidence that 4% of Indian Muslims study in Madarssa and 4% are involved in riots, troubles and terrorism.
There's no denying that we need to get rid of all forms of parallel education system (madrassa), parallel banking system (Islamic interest-free banking that the RBI is unfortunately mulling), parallel judicial system (Sharia) and parallel nationality (Ummah), as these are inherently diametrically opposite to the constitution of the land. I hope good sense prevails and they get phased out systematically.

For the time being, whichever madrassas receive grants from taxpayer's money must be brought under a government accredited, standardized syllabus which teaches math and science and Indian law system (meaning, at the very least they, need to be made aware that beheading people who disagree with you is not commendable). Also since we are a federal system, various state governments should pay for these schemes. It's unfortunate that a state like Bihar chooses to stay poor and overpopulated and expects the nation's entire population to fund its madrassas.

Also, all madrassas must teach in either English or the state's official vernacular language, not Urdu or Arabic. If students are taught in Urdu or Arabic, it becomes easy for them to communicate and link up with their jihadi brothers in other nations and states and it would mean we have hit an axe on our own foot with our own tax money by allowing a jihadi ecosystem to thrive. Karnataka madrassa must teach in Kannada, Tamil Nadu madrassa must teach in Tamil and so on, so that when a foreign Jihadi (Urdu/Arab) comes to an Indian Muslim and says 'come on brother, let's do some Jihad this weekend' the Tamil muslim says 'andu gundu andu gundu' and the foreign jihadi says 'damn, bro, I don't understand wtf are you saying? Jihad cancel!'

Iran will keep Saudi regime on edge for the next few years till the final blow sometime in 2019. It will be a combination of internal and external threats that will undo the regime which has been engaged in spreading violence in other parts of the world.

Some external forces with have been working together behind the door for the last several years to bring the situation where one of them will be forced to take action against their opponent which will lead to ultimate demise of fundamentalist forces in the region and result in mass exodus of foreign workers in the region.
