final has not come out yet.

at least , the out of S300 proves that Russia has to use its lastest toys to competing China toy.

BTW, I am sure that as a export version, FT2000 should be less advanced than PLA's HQ9.
Russia will also be limiting sales to you guys , since you reverse engineer a cheaper low quality copy and hope people will buy it because the cost is less, I doubt PLA's HQ9 is even as good as the original S-300,but i understand China needs to hype up the junk so idiots like pakistan believe it and buy it, but smarter countries like Turkey can see the truth.

well, it is usually reported in a very delicate way .

For example, Chinese offical papars sometimes openly praises somebody for his contribution to "a certain important experiment"., a certain defence project, a certain new aircraft....etc.

if people can read chinese, they can find lots of useful information in such "open praise",

But to foreiner who can not read chinese, those praise is useless for them to tell any useful information.

if you are careful enough, you can find lots of useful information in such "open praise".
So you agree that your previous claims of "information is not given" was wrong.

Pakistan Times | Top Story: 'India, US to use AWACS in War-Games'

'India, US to use AWACS in War-Games'
Pakistan Times Monitoring Report

NEW DELHI (India): As part of its defence preparedness, India and the United States are gearing up for yet another war game in November this year with their fighter aircrafts involving early warning systems.

This will be the second edition of the Indo-US fighter aircraft war games, named Cope India ’05, for which one of India’s north eastern airbases is being upgraded with sophisticated technology and state of the art weapon systems.

'The Grand Show'

A report in daily The Asian Age on Wednesday said that the Kalaikunda airbase in West Bengal will become the permanent centre where the foreign air forces can practice with the Indian fighters. This airbase where “the grand show” will be staged, at the moment operates a MiG-27 squadron, the report said.

Quoting defence ministry, the newspaper said the upgradation is being carried out “keeping in mind that the future battle tactics to be practised with the US forces will be in the backdrop of the airborne early warning systems.”

During the Indo-US exercises at Gwalior in February-2004, the newspaper says, the need to inculcate the assistance from the early warning systems in the air defence plans was felt by the Indian fighter pilots who realised US technological superiority over them.

It is also said that since India is in the process of getting its three Phalcon spy planes, it needed to practice for the new system -the AWACS which is capable of providing continuous, comprehensive and long-range air defence cover against low-level attacks. It is considered a major force multiplier.

The Indian daily said, “The US Air Force’s internal report had talked about the beating F-16s got at the hand of the Indian Air Force. But the report is being taken with scepticism in the Air Headquarters here as it was perceived to be a pressure tactics by the USAF to get more advanced jets in place of F-16s.”

F-22 Raptors

“The senior officials had pointed out that the USAF might be pressing its government to invest money in advanced fighters like F-22 Raptors or F-35 aircraft,” it further said.

For Cope India ’05, the report said that it was not yet clear which type of aircraft would be brought by the US Air Force. “But Indian side has almost decided to pitch in all the types of its aircraft including the Su-30s,” it said.

Indian Concern on sales of arms to Pakistan

Meanwhile, India on Wednesday expressed concern over sales of arms to Pakistan by the United States and said it could impact the ongoing peace process between the nuclear-armed rivals.

“India’s strong concern regarding repercussions of arms sales to Pakistan by the United States — including on the ongoing India-Pakistan dialogue — has been conveyed at high levels to the US government,” junior foreign minister Edappakath Ahamed told parliament, the Press Trust of India says.

Major US non-NATO ally

Last year Pakistan earned the status of a major US non-NATO ally, a designation, which is supposed to ease the sale of US military hardware.

Since the 2001 attacks, Islamabad has asked Washington to rectify an imbalance of power with its neighbour, India.

Pakistani officials have indicated they want to buy 25 F-16 fighter jets — worth around 25 million dollars each — by mid-2005 to add another squadron of aircraft to its existing fleet. India strongly opposes the potential sale.

Recap

The US Senate in January approved a budget which included military aid to Pakistan and Afghanistan, but has so far stalled on the F-16 issue.

The January allocation was designed to bolster the capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces which are hunting suspected Al-Qaeda fugitives along the rugged border with Afghanistan.

It followed an earlier notification by US defense officials of a possible 1.3-billion-dollar arms package for Pakistan.

This would include eight P-3C Orion planes to strengthen surveillance of Pakistan’s coastal and border regions in a bid to stop the movement of terrorists and drugs, US defense officials have said.

In February, Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesman said Islamabad had conveyed its concern to Washington over New Delhi’s interest in buying US-made Patriot missiles.

Briefing parliament about the ongoing India-Pakistan peace dialogue, Ahamed said the visit of Foreign Minister Natwar Singh to Islamabad last month had taken the process “significantly forward".

During Singh’s visit — the first by an Indian foreign minister in 15 years — the two sides announced the launch of an inter-Kashmir bus service between the divided zones of the Himalayan state from April-7.●

IAF's AWACS eye-in-the-sky to be inducted Tuesday .:. NewKerala - India 's Top Online Newspaper

IAF's AWACS eye-in-the-sky to be inducted Tuesday

New Delhi, May 22 : The first of three Indian Air Force (IAF) Airborne Warning and Control Systems
(AWACS), which will dramatically boost the IAF's capabilities beyond conventional ground-based and tethered electromagnetic radars, will be inducted into the force here Tuesday.

On its maiden flight to India
from Israel, where the cutting-edge technology Phalcon airborne radar was integrated with an Il-76 heavy-lift aircraft, the AWACS will first land at Jamnagar in western Gujarat Monday and will arrive at the military area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport here the following day.

'Although the AWACS are slated to operate from the Agra air base (home to the air force's Il-76 and Il-78 transports and midair refuellers), the induction ceremony will be conducted in the national capital,' an IAF official said.

'The IAF's AWACS will help pilots find hitherto unconceivable space and room for tactical manoeuvres in the air through real-time guidance that will give them an edge over their adversaries at all times,' the official added.

With the induction of the AWACS, India will join a club of only six other nations - the US, Russia, Britain, Japan, Australia and Turkey - that operate such a sophisticated system. Other countries - notably Pakistan, Brazil and Greece - too operate AWACS but at a much lower end of the scale in terms of capability.

With its ability to detect aircraft, cruise missiles and other flying objects at ranges far greater than is possible through existing systems, the AWACS can also collate surface information about troop movements and missile launches even while 'listening-in' to highly confidential communications between the enemy's front line units.

To this extent, the AWACS, as a potent force-multiplier, will significantly enhance the effectiveness of the IAF's offensive and defensive operations. Given the intensity and pace of modern-day air warfare, the AWACS will provide an impregnable aerial umbrella to neutralise any incoming threat.

Sources at the Agra air base, one of the largest in the country and which has immense strategic importance, say that all preparations, including extending the runway and setting up an avionics lab, have been completed. The ground exploitation system that will sift through and disseminate the data transmitted by the AWACS is also ready.

The $1.1 billion deal for the three AWACS was signed in 2004. The IAF is also likely to purchase three more systems, with delivery slated to be completed by 2012.

Israel Fine-Tuning AWACS for India

Israel Fine-Tuning AWACS for India

Arab News

NEW DELHI, 2 October 2003 — India’s technology-starved air force said yesterday the delivery of the Phalcon airborne early warning radar from Israel would take time as the system was being fine-tuned to Indian specifications.

Air force chief S. Krishnaswamy told reporters here the Indian Air Force (IAF) had asked for modifications to be done before taking delivery of the three Airborne Warning And Control Systems (AWACS).

India and Israel agreed in principle on the sale of the AWACS during Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s four-day visit here last month but a formal signing of the billion-dollar contract is only expected to be carried out in Tel Aviv later this year.

“The IAF is working on the technicalities and compatibility of the Phalcon systems, hence it will take some time before the delivery is made,” Krishnaswamy said without giving any time frame.

“There are certain modifications, alterations and adjustments to be made so that the systems are compatible for the IAF and we are seeking the technical expertise of various countries in this regard,” he added.

The United States, which had been blocking the sale of Phalcons to both India and China, has given Tel Aviv the go-ahead to sign the AWACS deal with New Delhi. Israel coordinates its military sales with Washington because the two nations’ defense industries are closely linked and often share technological advances.

India, however, wants to fit the Israeli AWACS on its Russian Ilyshin-76 cargo aircraft while Israel reportedly insists that New Delhi acquire the full package, which includes planes from US-based Boeing Corporation.

The IAF chief declined to elaborate on the Phalcon negotiations, which gained momentum in September last year when then Indian Defense Secretary Subir Dutta visited Tel Aviv for a week for talks on the AWACS.

After Russia, Israel in recent years has become India’s second largest defense supplier with armament sales from Tel Aviv to New Delhi touching 60 billion rupees ($1.25 billion) in 2001.

India recognized Israel soon after the Jewish state’s creation in 1948 but for decades has been close to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, a frequent visitor to India.

New Delhi did not establish diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv until 1992 amid the then-flourishing Middle East peace process.

I think where the information originally come from are not that important, and many times people who care about the current affairs here in China can make full use of their intelligent to collect and even assume the possibilities ,then try to verify them by the information that are being collected gradually. Most things are just like that ,frankly speaking, everybody should learn how to get ahead before the truth are published, everybody should be a man of foresight, for everything that will happen may have some symptoms, however ,not all the people can catch them. For instance, many foreign ambassadors’ Chinese abilities are so low that they even can’t read a piece of Chinese newspaper, then even the news was published in newspaper, they can’t hear of it ,too.

And because that's just our suspicion,so it won't be seen as revealing the national secret.

So everything out of China is a "speculation" only. Nothing is as such correct it is all fantasy of individuals

The Hindu : International : Israeli Phalcon to land in India today

Israeli Phalcon to land in India today

Tel Aviv: Indian Air Force pilots are all set to fly home first of the three Israeli Phalcon AWACS, India’s most potent force multiplier, capable of tracking down incoming missiles and peep into neighbouring countries without violating their airspace.

“The Russian supplied Ilyushin-76 mounted system, a part of the tripartite agreement between India, Israel and Russia, will take off from the Ben-Gurion airport on Sunday , first for Uvda in the southern Israeli coastal town of Eilat,” Defence Sources here said. “Later in the night it will fly from Eilat to Jamnagar, reaching India on Monday ,” the sources said.

The all weather system, capable of logging 60 targets simultaneously with a range of 400 km, is primarily used for detection of incoming hostile cruise missiles and aircraft from hundreds of kilometres away, as well as directing air defence fighters during combat operations against enemy jets.

It also helps detect troop build up in hostile territories. India’s frontline IAF fighters like Sukhoi-30MKIs, Mirage-2000s and Jaguars after the supply of the aircraft will be backed by “eyes in the sky” to look much beyond its existing capability through direct data linking.

The delivery of the first of the three aircraft, bought at a whopping price of $1.1 billion, is almost a year and a half behind schedule. Much of the delay is being attributed to technical difficulties arising while integrating the Ilyushin-76 aircraft with the whole system.

The remaining two aircraft would be delivered by Mid or late 2010, if everything goes on schedule, the sources said. India and Israel are said to be in advanced talks for the purchase of several more Phalcon AWACS, which the IAF proposes to integrate with other air and ground assets.

All the AWACS bought from Israel would be linked with the country’s first military satellite proposed to be launched by mid next year.

The Phalcons will provide the IAF with intelligence inputs, helping it to maintain air superiority, improve strike capabilities and conduct tactical surveillance deep into neighbouring countries. The U.S. had earlier pressurised Israel to cancel a similar deal with China in 2000 but gave, green light to the deal with India in May 2003. Israel has recently emerged as India’s largest supplier of defence equipments with the country’s weapon sales to New Delhi constituting about 50 per cent of its arms exports. — PTI

So it arrives:

PIB Press Release

First of IAF AWACS arrives in India

The first of the three Indian Air Force AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) platform arrived in India from Israel today. The giant IL-76 configured in its new avatar was escorted by three Mig-29 and Jaguar aircraft each that took off from an advance fighter airbase of South Western Air Command (SWAC). The fighter formations caught up with the AWACS mid-air and escorted it as it entered the Indian FIR (Flight Information Region), till safe touchdown at the Jamnagar airbase, close to midday, today.

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, SWAC, Air Marshal KD Singh, Air Defence Commander Air Vice Marshal P Singh and the AOC Jamnagar, Air Commodore C Hari Kumar and air warriors of the airbase welcomed the crew of the AWACS aircraft that included the Commanding Officer of the first AWACS squadron, Group Captain B Saju. Their maiden touchdown on Indian soil also marks the first landing of the AWACS in an IAF airbase.

“ It was a great feeling to be escorted by our fighters and it feels really good to be back”, said Group Captain B Saju upon arrival. Flown by a full complement of IAF pilots belonging to the newly formed squadron from Ovda International airport, located in southern Israel, the aircraft undertook an eight-and-a-half hour’s flight skirting around several countries taking the aerial route over the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea before landing at Jamnagar.

The aircraft is slated to arrive at Palam airport tomorrow where an induction ceremony is scheduled on May 28. The AWACS are slated to operate from the Agra airbase under Central Air Command and frenetic preparations ahead of its first arrival to join the extended fleet of the IL-76 family are complete.
