They also constitute a big source of remittances into BD. Any party that accepts them back also runs the risk of not only inviting the ire of the returning BDs (BD govt. accepting them formally acknowledges them as illegal aliens) and their family members who were dependent on the inward remittances.

Yes, there are many ifs and buts.

the way this matter will be resolved in the future, will give an indication as to whether we are any good at diplomacy game or not.

Its not difficult. Buy out the politician. Even if we have to give 3-4 billion dollar its fine.
Just political will is req. Anyway if Indian support is removed shiek hasina will fall down. Sign a secret pact

GoI has taken a bold step in bringing out the list. Good psyop against local muslim leaders , local b.j.p or associated parties need to work on this and expolit the perpetual fear of these people.

Bangladesh or any country for that, would never accept such people to be their citizens. The only way to solve this issue is to bar them from any kind of initiative from GoI.
1 Don't give them voting rights.
2 Don't give them any kind of subsidy.
3 Don't give them liberty to work.
4 Make them pay for each and everything in hard cash
5 No BPL status for them.
6 Impose tax on them as they are consuming land and no land rights to them.

If we would impose these on them, the rosy picture of India being a free country to loot would diminish. They themselves would sneak back in and it would further discourage any further immigration.

Moreover charge any Indian citizen supporting them with sedition charges.

Any reliable source on how many of these 42 lakh are Hindus from Bangladesh? i have problem with only Bangladeshi muslims living in Assam and have no interest in sacrificing Bangladeshi Hindus on the altar of some Assamese ethno-nationalism.

The NRC wil reach it's logical conclusion once the voting rights of the illegals are snatched away.
On that day, neither Mamta Bano, nor Pidi clown will utter a word in their favour and that will be the end of the road for them.

It means that such Id Cards are issued with the help of local people, and also that this problem is not limited to Assam and West Bengal but it's a nationwide problem of India.

All the states should have NRC.

From the wikipedia article on Indian nationality law:

Not sure how you would go about "proving" Indian citizenship if ,say, neither parents are Indian citizens.

    "Citizenship by birth

Any person born in India on or after 26 January 1950, but prior to the commencement of the 1986 Act on 1 July 1987, is a citizen of India by birth.

A person born in India on or after 1 July 1987 is a citizen of India if either parent was a citizen of India at the time of the birth.

Those born in India on or after 3 December 2004 are considered citizens of India only if both of their parents are citizens of India or if one parent is a citizen of India and the other is not an illegal migrant at the time of their birth.

In September 2013, Bombay High Court gave a judgement that a birth certificate, passport or even an Aadhaar card alone may not be enough to prove Indian citizenship, unless the parents are Indian citizens."

Firstly, Indian Govts. (mostly Congress) allowed this cancer to proliferate and now, when a govt is trying to stop this uncontrolled growth...likes of Dada Mamta are standing in way to encash this tragedy of illegal invaders.

Agree with Chimpoo...a person who was born on the soil of India after 1986 should be automatically accepted as citizen of India.
More important issue is to make sure more illegal invasion does not happen...seal the border with BD and Myanmar to keep Banglas and Rohingyas out.
Myanmar has practically solved the Rohingya problem by determined efforts to push them out of Myanmar. Almost 90% have gone to other Muslim countries and only less than 10 % have left in Myanmar now.

Once correctly identified, illegals should be given a choice to go back to Bangla Desh or Myanmar.....if they do not want to go..force them to live in special camps without any voting rights. If they work for 7 years, pay taxes and do not commit any crime, they should be given chance to become Indian citizens.
The children must be enrolled in regular Indian schools (Not in Madrassas) . They must follow Indian laws (not Sharia law) Strict police supervision to monitor them for any anti national activities are some other measures.

Raitas will be the death of this country, as much as liberandus. Some of these clowns want to deport the Hindus as well. I understand if some of the Assamese are troubled by any kangladeshis in Assam, but the centre can bring them west.

When from Mamta to Congress, everyone is talking nonsense, how could you leave behind the biggest nonsense of this world from it.
