That is totally BS.

You were capable of waging a war against Pakistan in 1970.

You were involved in the civil war of Sri Lanka which eventually killed one of your pime minister.

You were involved in Tibet riot of 1959, 3 years before 1962 Sino-india war.

The truth is that indian is a imperalist as Chinese and Americans. The only difference is that you are weakest on among the three.
We waged a war with pakistan not to prove ourself or to advance any imperialistic ambitions. If we had any, there would not have any kashmir issue with pakistan today.

We intervened in Sri Lankan civil war. Why do u think so? Did we go unilaterally to satisfy our urge for land? Ahem!! Some idiot (read 'Srilankan prime minister') invited us to intervene.

Do u mean Chinese illegal occupation of autonomous Tibet nation in 1959? I agree with you that India is involved in Tibet issue by giving asylum to a peace loving free men who want nothing but peace. How come imperialist Chinese ambitions became India's imperial ambitions? Did CCP told a distorted story to you or what? No need to answer since this is a rhetoric question.

Author ignores Chinese favorite passtime game called GO which is not chess but another type of board game in which encirclement of enemy and at the same time gaining maximum territory is the criteria for winning the game between two opponents. The game can go on even for months together as time has no value for winning. That makes one aim for and achieve very long term goals. That is ingrained in the Chinese psyche and character. Perhaps that game was invented based on Chanakya theory of mandala.

Second Asian characterstics not so aften spoken about is that in Asia there have not been vigorious religious and nationalist wars of European style. Winning things by waging wars as a policy was buried by Asian long time ago except for the Chinese who due to their peculiar historical circumstances were always subjected to wars in the past and in colonial era. In modern times all wars were heaped on Asia including India by the same sources - by Islam and by the Western powers and the colonial masters with an exception of Japan. In Asia Pakistan ( not even China ) is the only war warmongering country, that too for someone else and at someone else's behest ( USA or China).

India and for that matter china, are countries that have been expansionists through trade, migrations, cultural and religious influences. War as an instrument of policy was abandoned in middle ages. Even today India and China wish to expand their influences through trade, economy, culture and religion or ideology such as democracy Vs Communism (remember how scared were the Chines of the Fallun Gong ! ) That is why Chinese are more scared of ideas rather than guns.

These westerners look at the world with their tinted glasses ! Asia is wars whereas USA and Europe mean nothing but wars.

Good observation. Perhaps hence the Europeans are trying to ensure Euro survives. If national integration is not possible, economic integration is the only answer. I mean you go all the way back to the Counter-Reformation in the late 16th century which was extremely bloody. And then the Thirty Years' War which was devastating. And then the Seven Years' War and the Napoleonic Wars, the Franco-Prussian War, World War One, World War Two... this is one catastrophe after another! And Europe literally destroyed itself and exhausted itself in fighting all these wars. And finally after WWII they said enough! We're going to pursue unification. It's the only way to keep from fighting each other.
