India's secret history: 'A holocaust, one where millions disappeared...' | World news | The Guardian
Even considering hundreds of thousands dead as versus millions, is that anything to be proud of?
Face it, your forefathers in the UK were mass murdering people before the Nazis ever came about, and even after WW2, were indulging in whole sale slaughter and rapine.
Even that could be forgiven, but for the utter santimony and pompous patronizing dribble that drips from most British sources about anything India "caste, cows and curry" "we give them aid and they have a space program" ...
It is that, given Britains horrible record when it comes to treating other nations and people - that galls.
Germany takes the stick for WW2 & the holocaust, whereas the UK which committed pogrom after pogrom, mass murder after another in its colonies, pretends to be sanctimonious & above reproach.
You know what differentiates the US from the UK?
The US historians admit they were ba$tards in the 18th-19th centuries and what the settlers did to the natives. In contrast, the UK has created a mythos of "civilizing empire".
That coupled with a huge dose of British superiority complex - just take a look at any British paper on any topic re: India - just shows one thing, the UK is headed for disaster as a nation and as a civilization.
Because not only have you been historically been full of sh!t, its that you are unwilling to even acknowledge those mistakes and clear up that sh!t.
The massive racism in British discourse about other nations is just symptomatic of that fact.
