Now that the election schedule is out, and you've each made up your minds on your political orientations, are you... (select the poll option).
I think that there would very few people in DFI who wouldn't vote. W/o enough interest in national interest few joins in DFI
That's what I'm here to find out. A lot of arm-chair political pundits on the Internet, but do they actually have EPICs and their names on the rolls.
No, voting is not mandatory. However, Election Commission and some PIL activists sometimes make sounds to make so.
It's not mandatory, but India has a healthy and growing voter-population. There are 815 million registered voters to a population of 1.24 billion (about two-thirds). Trends show that urban middle classes who are typically cynical of our system seldom see electoral politics as a means to improve it. Will that change in this year's polls, because it's that same urban middle-class that's been screwed over the most by the incumbent government? That's an interesting question.
We have not voted last few elections due to different reasons - this time we made sure to enroll in Oct-Nov last and checked voter list already in Dec for our names. Mine and my family's votes for NaMo/BJP this time !
I also will vote to BJP for Modi, but in the VS my name didn't appear on the roll, I have contacted the commission.
I have applied for enrollment, I'll be checking it. Actually it happened due to change in my residence.
I am voter from jangipur consituency. But i am thinking to take rest in home rather than standing in long line in polling booth in election day
