The bizarre saga of Anna Chapman, the smoking hot Russian spy arrested in New York in 2010, just got a lot weirder.
In a new interview with the BBC, the FBI's counterintelligence chief Frank Figliuzzi revealed that the real reason the feds arrested Chapman was because top officials believed she was getting "closer and closer" to seducing a sitting U.S. Cabinet member.
Figliuzzi told the BBC that Chapman "closer and closer to higher and higher ranking leadership... she got close enough to disturb us."
"We were becoming very concerned," he said, according to The Independent. "They were getting close enough to a sitting US cabinet member that we thought we could no longer allow this to continue."
Unfortunately, Figliuzzi would not name the senior U.S. official who Chapman tried to seduce.
