Bro, don't mix SCS with Indian ocean. Indian ocean though being named after Inida, doesn't actually belong to India. SCS is not only named after China, but also belongs to China. Please don't get confused.

If you want to make a better analogy, you should say "India is a public property of the international community".
How does China claim an entire sea. Do you guys share a culture with the sea or are you guys mermaids, living in the sea. LOL
Our claim to Tibet is way stronger than your claim to SCS.

These Filipinos are showing more finesse in their brinkmanship with China. This brings to mind the Georgian-Russian brinkmanship, but Georgia in that case handled it like an amateur. The Filipinos must not forget that China is still a giant that can crush them easily (like how the Bear crushed and humiliated the Georgians). So they must not give the Chinese an excuse to charge at them. However, personally, as an observer of the Filipino-Sino brinkmanship the former has shown flexibility and diplomatic finesse, so far. I hope they don't make that little mistake that will push them out of their safe zone...

Unlike Georgia, the Philippines however is a growing Asian economic power with a very influential and important regional association behind them, ASEAN. This means that the US cannot afford not to act like what they did in Georgia as the whole ASEAN will be watching just how reliable they are.

Many countries stood up against China, what is so notable? China is not an aggressive super power like US, no country should be fearful of China.

.

US aggression is directed towards those nations who pick on smaller ones. Their intervention levels the playing field and protects smaller nations from the greed of others (I'm not saying from the greed of china.. wink wink)

Indeed.

Your claim to the Universe is also very strong!

And your penchant to turn fables into 'history' is equally strong!

US, Filipino troops start drills near disputed sea

MANILA, Philippines—U.S. and Philippine military officials say nearly 7,000 American and Filipino troops have begun two weeks of major military exercises but they stress that China is not an imaginary target.

Philippine army Maj. Emmanuel Garcia said Monday that the annual drills, called Balikatan or shoulder-to-shoulder, will include combat maneuvers involving the mock retaking by U.S.-backed Filipino troops of an oil rig supposedly seized by terrorists near the South China Sea.

U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Curtis Hill says most other events will focus on humanitarian missions and disaster-response drills.

Beijing has protested military drills involving Americans near the South China Sea, where it is locked with the Philippines and four other nations in territorial rifts.

That puts paid to the theory that China is a peace loving country and not a hegemonic monster!

If US and Philippine forces are training to counter "terrorist" activities on oil rigs then China must be a "terrorist state"...

And just how do you think you will take up your claim? Put cyanide in our tea, as in ChongQing? Ha ha you might get away with your CP antics with the docile population at home, but you will find that outside of China people have a lot more freedom and say and will certainly not tolerate your stupid CP facist policies.

Philippines replaced largest warship with small coast guard ships because its more a diplomatic action rather than military act. If china sinks a single vessel it would make whole world's opinion against China. Nobody would ask that sunk vessel was large or small. Philippines did very well in terms of diplomacy and strategy she is keeping her best ships for real war if it comes in future. The ball is in China's court and if china sink a single vessel it would alarm world and china would lose it. .
it replace the ship because china send its civilian ships, it doesn't look good for philippine to have a warship against chinese civilian ship. in a sense philippine back down already. china is not dumb enough to fire the 1st shot, it will contine to push its claim, arrest fisherman from vietnam/philippine who fish in claim area. chase off oil survey ships etc. when philipine send its warship, china could send its navy too, it didn't, because it doesn't want to create an incident, it force philippine worship to back down by sending civilian ships. Now all they need to do is allow their chinese fisherman sail away without any boarding etc.

As per international charter each nation who has its borders with sea must have some area of sea as his natural assets. China is denying this fact, actually Philippines and other nations in SCS are the natural owner of definite areas of SCS and nobody can claim that area in any way. China is not the owner of whole SCS and China should not give unpractical reason for it like talking about history. This is not history, this is present as per china's reasoning India should have whole Indus ocean, Britain should have whole Atlantic sea but this doesn't make sense today. Live in present.

Do remember that any action of China against Philippines would be taken seriously by international community including UNSC and this may risk China to get isolated from world so choose your words cautiously
.
its disputed area for god crisis. US, UK, and many other nations has territory not even remote close to their mainland. just because its close to certain country it does not automatically become your territory. britain is control of falkland, US is control of guant bay, guam, hawaii, alasaka etc etc.

again china is not dumb enough to fire on philippine first, harssing maybe, pushing philippine to fire the first shot. philippine has alway play the defense role.

heck if you look at both vietnam/philippine claim of SCS, the area is bigger than their country, they also claim area near other SE asia countries as well. what make vietnam/philippine the right to claim half of SCS.
