@Damian, Can you elaborate abt such loading system over Arjun`s existing manual loading system ?,

It is certainly not an auto-loader then why such complexity .. ?

Well, but this is autoloader. Ukrainians just offer you autoloading mechanism that can be placed in turret bustle behind blast proof bulkhead. Additionally, when now Arjun have 10 ready rounds in ready rack behind loader, with this upgrade you have 22 ready rounds in turret bustle. Of course there is still space for loader than can now perform other duty, like he can operate RWS while commander is using his panoramic sight to designate targets for gunner, and does not need to focus on RWS to eliminate secondary targets and provide security, this is now task of former loader.

Preatty much Ukrainian upgrade proposal is better in many aspects than waht Arjun Mk2 offers.

For example 6TD engine will give more HP and in the same time is smaller, more compact and lighter than currently used engine, same for transmission, so Ukrainian upgrade might actually reduce overall weight of vehicle, or keep it at the same level, while with "Duplet" ERA you will have superior protection over what you have right now.

If such upgrade taken seriously, First concern would be the commonality ..

I think, ERA placement for MK2 is fine but again Ukrainian upgrade offer ERA protection at Gunner sight area and at side chassis ..

License production would be a good idea, And element of this upgrade should go to MK2 as well ..

Engine from Ukraine will be good idea.

this electromechincal bustle loading automatic machine is good idea i just figure out how it works and with some modification it can be put into Arjun, this will also use the arjun blow out panels. Plus crew compartment can be physically separated from the tank ammo.

Regarding engine, There was a discussion back in Arjun thread ..

1500hp engine so does 1800hp engine consume same amount of fuel ..

Kunal sir the ammo should be placed in cylinders on conveyor belt, with only opening for two ammo vertically. Then you can have sliding door on the ammo opening.

This will save space for the tank crew, plus they can take out ammo from one angle only which can just behind the gun.

yeah but we can have choice of using this Auto loader by Israel.

Israelis says they have tested this on Arjun and it worked perfectly.
This is not autoloader. This is from Merkava Mk4, there are two drums each for 5 rounds. Drums are operated by digital system, where loader chooses desired ammunition, drums rotate to the closest choosen round, ammunition port blast door opens and system puches the round outside so loader can grab it and load in to a gun.

It is not autoloader however, which loads round in to main gun without any assistance from human loader or other crew member.

No, this is neither autoloader nor loader. This is just mechanized ammo rack, nothing more.

Does the recent Ukrainian crisis affect this proposal?
As far as I know, they still manufacture BM "Oplot" tanks for Thailand, so it seems that their arms industry is still working.
