looks like Chanakayapuri in Delhi this is diplomatic enclave/area in New Delhi.
Afgan Sher Ahmad Shah Masood was very close to india and west and right hand of RAW..
he was jaani dushman of pakistan as pakis was with haqqanis. it is said ISI was responsible for his death
"Lion of Panjshir"
His followers call him Ä€mir SÄhib-e ShahÄ«d ("Our Beloved Martyred Commander")
n the spring 2001, Ahmad Shah Massoud had addressed the European Parliament in Brussels, saying that Pakistan was behind the situation in Afghanistan. He also said that he believed that, without the support of Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden, and Saudi Arabia, the Taliban would not be able to sustain their military campaign for up to a year. He said the Afghan population was ready to rise against them. Addressing the United States specifically, he warned that should the U.S. not work for peace in Afghanistan and put pressure on Pakistan to cease their support to the Taliban, the problems of Afghanistan would soon become the problems of the U.S. and the world.
Massoud was the leader of Northern Alliance and had been murdered in a plot of Al Qaeda by a fake cameraman that exploded a hidden bomb inside it during a fake interview.
Am I right?
He could have saved Afghanistan from falling into the hands of Taliban after Russian withdrawal. No wonder he got assassinated because he was the thorn in the plans of Pakistan.
those walls look like the american/british school
Massoud is also responsible for so many Afghan deaths hence I don't approve this decision.
I perceived in these pics that street signs in India are written in 4 languages: hindi, english, panjabi and urdu.
That is an irresponsible statement. Uh, i mean provide evidence
This is common practice. We have the Indira Gandhi children's hospital in Kabul:
ISI attacked it in 2010 and killed several Indian doctors treating children. Remember that the next time someone says something good about Pakiland.
Massoud stood against the tyranny of the Taliban and the other ISI proxies. He was also one of the most feared and effective Mujhadeen fighters against the Russian forces.
Even at the height of Taliban power he managed to hold them off in the Panjshir Valley.
English and Hindi yes.
Is written in Punjabi and Urdu because these languages are widely used in Delhi (where the pic is taken). Street signs are generally written in 3 languages: English, Hindi and a local language
If the US Consulate in Kolkata can be located on Ho Chi Minh Sarani (originally Harrington Street), the street name after Massoud is justifiable and it should be where the Pak High Commission is located!
only in north india
He's not snow white during civil war he also did same thing like Heymaktyar
Massoud was not peace lover but a warlord.
@JBH22, He was our ally. In my books looking at the strategic needs of our country, that means he was a hero. A person who stood up to the ISA/PA and Taliban.
There are thousands of Afghanistan citizens in Delhi. Many come here for medical treatment too. As do Middle Easterners.
Besides the tends of thousands of Non muslim Afghan refugees.
And lately I have spotted a few of them in the Baloch Shalwar and Sindhi topi.
@datguy79 do the Tajiks or Heratis women dress like Iranians ie Coat and headscarf ?1
@Singh, I have met a few Sardar businessmen in Nehru Place and Karol Bagh. They prefer to speak in maybe Dari and even their Punjabi is difficult to understand.
Even their style of tying Turban is different than what we generally see here.
