Re: Hongdu L-15 will be exported to Egypt ?

via- twitter Reports that the Hongdu L-15 picked up its first export order at Zhuhai. Strong rumours that the 12 aircraft are for Egypt, perhaps Iraq?

Can some of our Chinese members confirm ?
Pick #1--Egypt, they make K-8 under Chinese license, they will go on with TOT purchase, and ... On loan....
Poor country, but very loyal customer.

I have not heard about Iraqi deal though, some other countries also showed interest. but if hard cash are needed, Venezuela it is then.

Pick #2-- Argentina, this country needs to update their outdated fleet of trainers.

by the way, the first 12 order is placed by a domestic company, CATIC, a white glove dealer, heihei.

AVIC declined to disclose further details of the deal, hence no one is sure about it.

People are also getting interested in WingLoong, not a bad choice I guess. Rumor says this bird costs only 1 million US dollars, very cost-effective.

Conversing with Pakistani pilots, maybe questions like "how good is FC-1" are gonna brought up many times.

Apparently the foreign customer is Egypt. On another note, L-15 has been officially accepted into PLAAF service as the JL-10.

I would like to see captions for the vintage aircraft photos.

Also, I have never seen SAMs and AAA displayed at an airshow.

1. the silver grey twin seater one: JJ5 fighter/trainer 5, TOT variant of Mig17 U. completely retired from active service in 2009. it was used by Aug 1st aerobatic team in the 1980s

2. the white double engine one J-6, fighter 6, TOT variant of Mig19 with minor Chinese modifications, a veteran fighter supports China's air defense until 1986, it has been exported and served many countries' airforce for decades, the model has shot down 23 invading enemy planes in various countries but never been shot down above Chinese skies.

The F-6 ( J6)was flown by the Pakistan Air Force from 1965 to 2002, the aircraft design undergoing around 140 modifications to improve its capabilities in the interceptor and close air support roles. The PAF F-6 fighters participated in the Indo-Pak War 1971 against India, scoring approximately 6 confirmed aerial victories including one Indian Mig-21. The three Pakistani J-6 squadrons flew nearly a thousand sorties,

3. the green one is CJ-5, meaning basic trainer 5, TOT variant of Yak 18, China's first batch produced ariplane, sturdy build and very reliable performance, it was in active service until 1978.

Lots of air show has SAMs displayed,
like this one in Paris 2011
