MK1A still on paper. So this 1000 kg reduce weight is still not achieved.
Design changes required for weight reduction is going to happen on paper! ...not by sawing off parts from an actual Tejas prototype.

Although losing 1000 kg sounds like that "Arjun Mark 2 will be 50 tonnes" rumour. But shaving away a few hundred kilograms shouldn't be impossible, & how much progress have been made is not available to public.

Let see , what will happen. I have little faith.

Correct. The biggest mistake HAL did was to develop HTFE 25 engine. Had this been a HTFE 35 with 52 kn Wet thrust, we could have used it in JAGUAR as well as Tejas Mk2 Navy or in Tejas Mk2 air-force in twine engine configuration. Stupidity of HAL will cost us high. HAL should start HTFE 35 or 37 with 54 KN wet thrust immediately with a dead line to make it operational within 3 years. Because the similar engine is not available, US company has quoted a very price and it is simply blackmailing us. HTFE may become operational in current year but it will be mostly useless without any application except in HTT 36 sitara if it is revived at ll. If we make HTFE 35 with a provision to upgrade to 40+ KN thrust class engine, we can use it Aura as well.
HAL is developing HTEE-25 for future jet trainer, light jet, UAV etc. Twin engine Tejas never going to be happen.

Who told you that? Infact Indian navy's preference is twine engine Tejas. They want Twine engine plane for carrier.

Not tejas bro .it will be namca(naval amaca)
Still now no twin engine tejas concept....
Again..navy is going for.....57 foreign fighters for ins vikrant....
And navy will require new fighter only for ins vishal which is in design stage..
If it takes....10 years...
Then definitely namca will be there............

Semi-stealth features (including radar absorbent coating) in MWF

http://idrw.org/mwf-tejas-mk-2-will-feature-semi-stealth-air-frame/
  • Medium Weight Fighter (MWF) based on its LCA-Tejas design elements but it will be, completely new program with little or no major technology borrowed from its predecessor Tejas Mk1/1A and more of its technologies will be borrowed from India’s 5th Generation AMCA fighter jet program.

  • Development of MWF was convinced only in 2014-15 period and the whole platform was redesigned and the previous Mk-2 design concept which was just Mk1 air frame with 0.5m fuselage plug has been discarded to allow the platform to be classified as a Medium class aircraft.

  • 5th generation AMCA program was unofficially commissioned way before MWF was conceived, designers were able to feature in atleast four of its RCS reduction measures to reduce electromagnetic & infrared signatures with use of carbon composite and thermoplastic composites at the frontal section of the aircraft & AMCA's RAM coating paint so that ”Semi Stealth” can be achieved.

  • 1)Wing and Canard edge alignment to reduce drag and also reduce friction heat and improve RF deflection.
    2) Air intakes ducts will have twisted design so that engine blades can be carefully hidden inside the intake duct.
    3) Radar-absorbent materials on the critical sections of the fuselage will be used.
    4) Sharp edges at front fuselage will also help reduce radar cross-section (i to my think we saw the final shit in Aero-India).

Bloody Wipe out so many things in One go with 6 ton payload.

Those models probably aren't final. I expect the frontal part of fuselage & radome to be reshaped...
This needs to be added;

Future versions are most likely going to be based on the more mature Naval model.

It seems that designer have tried to add add some stealth IN in LCA mk2 Navy. isn't it?

Where are we in the development stage of Mark 2. Can this plane be ready in next three years for first flight test.

In that Aero India video they said design is at the final stages before freezing... So the could roll out the first flight model in 2020-21 fiscal. It's only to be affected by development time of subsystems like Uttam or Mayavi.
