THE BRUTAL RAPE AND MURDER CASE

Nationwide protests had erupted after charred body of a 26-year-old woman was found in an underpass on Hyderabad outskirts on November 28.

The 26-year-old veterinary doctor was smothered, raped and then burnt by four men night and her body was found the next day on November 28 under a culvert on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru national highway.

According to the Cyberabad police, the four accused had punctured the rear wheel of her scooter, offered to help her, dragged her to a secluded spot close to a toll plaza and raped her. It said the victim died due to suffocation and the accused later burnt her body.

The four men, all lorry workers, aged between 20 and 24, were arrested on November 29 for raping and killing the woman by smothering her and later burning her body.

The accused were identified as Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu. Mohammad Areef (25), who worked as a driver, was the prime accused in the case. The four accused in the gruesome gangrape and murder of a woman veterinarian doctor had been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

WHAT HAS THE VICTIM'S FAMILY SAID

Reacting to the killing of the four accused in the encounter, the victim's sister said they welcomed it. "We are happy. We did not expect this (killing in the encounter). We thought they would be hanged through courts.

"We thank everyone who stood by us. With this incident people should be scared to indulge in such crimes (against women)," she told reporters.

    Positive development.
We are marching towards our goal of a society which enforces peace rather than begs for it. The only way to do that is to eliminate the unruly. I congratulate KCR. I congratulate the Police, better late than never, although - one innocent life was lost for society to wake up. Completely avoidable.

Dude, a Gangajaal isn't exactly desirable. Imagine when political atmosphere changes and all this is done to take out political accused, especially right wingers.

It remains to be seen if the wealthy and the powerful will ever be subjected to the same form of justice. Otherwise we will be moving towards a society that selectively enforces peace, with the poor and marginalised being the easiest targets.

For some reason I cannot discount the probability that these four were eliminated to freeze the trail leading to bigger and more uncomfortable truths.

Fake encounter by police removes all trace of conspiracy.

I don't want to but I can't help but agree. This smells fishy, particularly under the likes of KCR. 'Recreating' crime scene and the accused running away also seems very convenient.

The real problem is, most patriots will be cheering for this, whereas liberals (whom we all love to hate) are against it. Goes on to show that being right wing is no guarantee that they're decent human beings.

No liberal is celebrating. Most of them are against it. Say what you will, but liberals stick to their ideology. right wing is too emotional for any ideological clarity.

Whenever something good happens, someone starts cribbing about a Muslim victim of the past or wealthy and the rich. Wtf? What's the problem in being wealthy? Could the wealth have saved from this countrywide outrage?

BJP is also complicit in this if center doesn't send CBI and other forensics to investigate the encounter which everyone knows is staged.

Still this should be short term solution for deterrence. Indian police is no less than bully and goon themselves.

I saw both liberals and right wingers go crazy with the encounter. Both sides have lost it.

Agaya @@@bose apne Right wing left wing chutiyapa pe . RW are common people not some intellectual donkeys like liberals who call themselves enlightened and bla bla . Go and check the normal liberals they are asking for blood . no one will justify a fake encounter either its right or left but most right wing or common people who are frustrated with the system being totally tilted in favor of few groups are expressing their anger in sort of supporting this encounter

Lauda Left wing and liberals encounters are more brutal in WB and Kerala where they ruled and don't forget congress pappu itself is accused in gang rape case but he got away with his influence

While I am liking the encounter I am worried as well. How come 4 accused snatch firearms from police at the same time and fire at them and how all the fours were shot dead by police at the same time ? ek ko goli lagti to baki teeno ki fat jati aur wo aise hi surrender kar dete.
