Two Army Jawan have been reported to be killed in a Snow Avalanche which hit an high altitude post in Padam Area of Nowgam Sector, under Kupwara District in the North of Kashmir Valley. There has been continuous snow fall from the last 24 hours & no rescue operation can be launched due to extreme bad weather & heavy snowfall. The area is expected to have received minimum 5-10 feet of Snowfall or more.

While on Facebook an Indian Army Fan page have claimed that: Army Jawans were killed due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, not by Avalanche.

Rest In Peace

Yeah, if you are stuck in bunker buried in snow, you will die of carbon monoxide poisoning. RIP.

True Padam is a bad area.

Very craggy and high.

Very unfortunate.

RIP.

Avalanches and deaths are not unheard of in the IA.
