A medical practitioner has argued that the recommendation to drink six to eight glasses of water a day to prevent dehydration "is not only nonsense, but is thoroughly debunk nonsense."
There is currently no clear evidence of the benefit from drinking increased amounts of water, yet the "we-don't-drink-enough-water" myth has endless advocates including the NHS, claimed GP Margaret McCartney.

I for one have 2 ltrs of water approx anyways.
People do talk about water being a cure for many diseases.
I remember parents telling me that when they were in our village, they consumed water only in copper "ghara".
There was also a system where they use to fill in fresh water in that copper vessel before going to bed and then consume that first thing in the morning. Some of the old stuff was not without a reason.
