46 Pak-Backed Spy Modules Busted Since '08: Govt

The government today said a total of 46 Pakistan-backed spy modules were busted by the security forces since 2008 in the country.

"During the last three years and the current year (2008 to 2011 till date), a total of 46 Pakistan-backed espionage modules were busted in the country," Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh informed Lok Sabha in a written reply.

However, Singh said, no cases of espionage, specifically by people working in foreign companies have been reported.

The Minister said the government has been pursuing a well coordinated and multi-pronged approach to tackle such activities by strengthening the intelligence machinery, ensuring a close interaction and coordination between different agencies of the Centre and the state governments.
