The Jews were not liked not because they were aggressive and tried to impose their ideology on countries where they lived.
They were not liked because they were in a position to dictate the economic fortunes of the country where they lived.
There has been a historical animosity over the ages between Christianity and Judaism.
As per DAVID CESARAN, the English historian who specialises in Jewish history,
what made the Nazis' hatred of the Jews so unusual is that it was racial and it was biological. They believed that the Jews were not just the followers of an abhorrent religious doctrine, or that the Jews had grabbed too much economic influence, or even that they were too intrusive in politics or culture: what made the Nazis hatred of the Jews so different is that they believed that the Jews were biologically and racially distinct and that there was a kind of biological struggle for dominance over the entire human race between the Jews and everybody else.
Another thing that separates the Nazis apart from other people who dislike Jews is that the Nazis believed that the Jews had acquired vast power, and that they had used this power in a malign way. It was the power of the Jews that had led to the Bolshevik revolution, it was the power of the Jews that had led to revolution in Germany, had stabbed the German Army in the back and had brought down Imperial Germany. In the Nazis' world vision not only were the Jews a force for evil, a Manichean, demonic force for evil, but they had vast power, they had their hands on the levers of power. They had to be eliminated, they had to be deprived of that power, they had to be broken and then destroyed. To the Nazis the entire course of world history vindicated that interpretation of Jewish power.
Like the Jew and Christianity issue, the issue with the Muslims is also a historical issue.
However, unlike the Jews, the Muslims have adopted violent means to establish supremacy in this historical religious geographical and temporal tussle.
Unlike the Jews, whose attempts to supremacy was not physically upfront and life threatening, the Muslim attempt at supremacy manifests itself in physical and life threatening mode that is more real, unpredictable and scary. Hence, the backlash is more evident.
Further, the Muslim attempt at supremacy, not only encompasses the Christians and Jews of the Abrahamic class, but also people of all other Faiths and communities to include Atheists, Communists and surprisingly Islamic adherents not of the dominant sect of Islam, resulting a universal and worldwide revulsion and anger.
This profile and activities of the Islamic fundamentalist upsurge signature of unending mayhem, bloodshed and cruel repression has created a fear psychosis amongst others leading to even bizarre 'replies' as in this instant case that defies civilised reaction to Islamic fundamentalism.
In America, while patriotism (love for a nation, with more emphasis on values and beliefs) are said to be their credo, it is actually nationalism (to give more importance to unity by way of a cultural background, including language and heritage) that triumphs. That is why the non Anglo Saxon (in the earlier years) and now white skin and Christian people get away (as in the case of police brutalities reported in the US) and rally the people (white) and give it the national ethical bottom line).
That white skin Christian ethos and hurt (9/11) is what got Bush going with his 'War on Terror' and 'Crusade', which the white world was blind to see before, even though Islamic terrorism was alive and killing all over the Asian and African continents. India was such a victim for long and the white West was in denial till it hit them hard.
Bush's War on Terror got many a white American to the far corners of the world and the fear crazed hatred with combat and weaponry superiority made them go on wild and uncontrolled rampage over the weaker people, who had done enough of harm to get people riled crying for revenge and justice. This uncontrolled and unbridled rampage with no quarters given, got many Americans killed and it affected the psychology of the 'veterans'. They developed the Wild West psychology of wanting and enforcing justice beyond the law and civilised behaviour.
The fundamental Islam has called it upon themselves, but it is also true that the innocent also suffer.
Whether this man who killed was a veteran or not, it is not material. While one would surely grieve for the dead, yet what one should grieve for is that fundamental Islam is not dead.
All human beings, irrespective of community, Nation or religion should actually close ranks to defeat all types of fundamentalism.
Once upon a time there was a man who shared same hatred against the jews and commited worst crimes against humanity. It cost him dearly and he saw his country, Der Dritte Reich decimised and humiliated internationaly.
Heil Hitler!
Heil You.
Superficial and perfunctory understanding of issues as you display does not indicate the reality.
If Islam is in a bad shape today, it is you and your Country, which is the WOMB of Islamic terrorism who has led Islam in to such a sorry state.
Pakistan is always the source of terrorists.
And Pakistan willingly hid the worst of the lot, Osama and stole money from the US lying through the teeth that it was payment for the War on Terror, they were waging against fundamentalists.
Janus incarnate, to say the least.
