26 January Republic Day 2015 Celebration Thread

Things which were clearly visible in this Republic Day parade:

. PM Modi's security guards have been replaced with civil clothes wearing officials. A good change.

. The President still has a bunch of red clad orderlies hanging around his person, a leftover of British era, but still continuing. This should be done away.

. That horse guard which escorts the President's motorcade seemed out of place. It was designed for the buggy ride. The President does not ride buggy anymore, he rides a luxury car. There is no need for the horse guard.

. The women in uniform leading the parade and in the ranks were a hit.

. It was grave protocol error to make Mrs. Obama sit away from President Obama. They suit together and should have been seated together.

. T90 Tanks in the Parade could be easily replaced with Arjun tanks.

. We have a number of LCAs in testing phase. Two of them flying overhead could have made a huge difference.

. As usual the Camel Corp was a hit.

These motorcycle stunts are the best. Why buy expensive APCs when you can use this formidable formation. Reminds a little bit war elephants. Great work! Suitable also for countries that struggle with defense budgets like we do.

You are underestimating Shuppa Powwa Finland... its firepower is immense and unmatched.

Finland can easily destroy US on it's own... it can just send few U shaped fishing boats with few fishermen armed with their traditional knife and enslave Amreeka.

Russia and US is living on the mercy of Finland....let's not make Finland angry which is the sleeping giant.

the motorcycles stunts were cool 25 years ago as showcase of bravery of paramilitary soldiers,

and as a tradition it kept going on and its not appropriate in modern day parade,

and so now many people including retd. army guys asking to stop these motorcycles shows on parade.
