Pak Prime minister leaves for 4-day official visit to UK
ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf Saturday said fair, free, timely, and impartial elections were the first and the foremost responsibility of the government.
Talking to newsmen at Noor Khan Airbase before taking off for his first official visit to the United Kingdom, he said all political parties and stakeholders were unanimous on holding the vote according to the schedule.
The prime minister, who had called on President Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore Friday night, said he discussed the current political situation, besides measures for fair, free and transparent election in the meeting.
To a question, He said his visit to UK would further strengthen the existing cordial ties between both the countries.
The Prime Minister said he would hold a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss issues of mutual interest.
He said the meeting would provide an opportunity to identify ways and means to further raise the level of bilateral cooperation and discuss important regional and international issues.
The Prime Minister said during his stay in UK, he would also interact with Pakistani diaspora, media and British Parliamentarians. (APP)
