How is the above stuff OT? Please explain, i am sure it sounded politically incorrect that is true but to judge the people working on the Tejas is totally on topic.

You can judge an organization by their results. You cannot judge the people without being in the organization.
What is that even supposed to mean, did you look at the people on that pic? Are they the better half of India's education system?

I dont want to waste time on sounding cunning and PC. I am not a politician to choose my words to impress anyone. Some of those people should not be working on a nations first fighter jet project. No wonder Kaveri is still in the Docks.

Quality of man power is poor in HAL, i am not saying everyone but the vast majority is there for a pay cut and government job.

Disgusting to say the least, People working hard don't have time to give time for looks..

Those people are not less than PHD in there respective subjects, these people are more respected than any Bollywood actor..
Stop being so PC and jingoistic on every issue. I am not judeing their hard work but the quality of labor at HAL. Do you honestly believe we can compete with Lockeed, Boeing or Airbus with staff like that? Not a chance, they belong to the lower rung of indian education system not the best.

Most people here get Phds for promotions and job security, the quality of people at PSU is very doubtfull. That is nothing raceist, casteist or pompus in saying so. I am not a politician to sugar quote my views, take it or leave it.

A PC with CRT monitor at the tarmac? Have they heard of Laptops, When people make work so difficult the problem is definitely with IQ. This is an sign of repressive and conservative cultural thinking. A man who brings a PC to the tarmac is definitely can not think creatively, that is just common sense.

GK needs to be shown a mirror :D
It is not about looks, it is not about how they can mug a book and get 90% or do math faster. It is about being creative, it about challenging the imposed cultural authority in your own mind to take the best solution or dream beyond it without borders.

GK, Defence labs can only hire from the talent pool that they have. If well schooled kids chase American dreams what the hell can we do? Defence job pay scales are not competitive, but we already spend 3% of GDP on defence. Amongst the highest in the world. Unless we get richer and our spending power increases, we cannot have a pay scale that keeps the best minds here.

Yusuf, why sjould GK be shown a mirror. Not everyone has a scientific aptitude, not you or me or GK. Those that do - those who get into our premier institutions dont have a nationalistic attitude. Most are just greedy jingoes.
Not true, money is not a problem but look at the fool takeing a PC to the tarmac. This is cultural failure, to think stingily and not spend money is part of South Indian culture. Even when your given billion to get the job done, such cultural bias will not improve creativity, he will only use the cheap quality alternative in his thinking and will not think out of the box. We can not afford to have people like that, we need to have a private companies policy of hire and fire on performance and not on Phds or Degrees certificates. Even if a person is good and has only a diploma he needs to be hired.

If they have been provided laptops, they would have obviously got it out. Its common sense. If they have not been provided with one, they cant use their personal laptops here. Your IQ should have let you conclude that its the process/budget to blame and not that particular person in the pic.

It is merely your lack of understanding on how things really work.

Companies don't hire the best and the brightest. They hire the most trainable.

The best and the brightest undergraduate from any university anywhere in the world severely lacks knowledge as compared to a mediocre worker in any company with 10 years of experience.

Govt job security is an added perk. But it is not easy to get into these DPSUs without merit or influence. The latter is a very small percentage anyway, and even with influence people don't really get anywhere. Most get kicked out during training for lack of merit.

I doubt there is any member here who has been more critical of DPSUs in this forum than I have. Let me tell you one thing. IITs are overrated. My friend graduates from a regular college and trains IITians in the company they all joined at the same time as batchmates. Guess who got the first promotion out of 5 IITians and this regular college grad?

Just tell your solution and get it over with instead of beating around the bush now.

Your inability to even understand what i said should disqualify you from entering this thread. What i said is the way the whole Tejas team is thinking, that guy in the picture does not run the program. I am only showing the mindset that allows such things to happen, that mindset does not look creative but conservative when they dont even spend on a LT.
