Russia, China, India, Brazil, Iran, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Mexico (that's >51% of world's population), and many other countries, do not recognize SNC. To suggest that SNC is internationally recognized is delusional.

Well just because Russia, China, India, Brazil, Iran, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Mexico, etc. do not recognise the SNL does not also make it true that it is not internationally recognised... :tsk:

a glass of water, half full or half empty subj to your interpretation.

So far Assad regime holds the UN seat. Can this be regarded as an intl recognition for the legitimate representation of Syria, up to the moment?

Because Assad is illegitimate and the SNC is the only internationally recognized body to replace him.
The President Mali too many consider illegitimate, but according to the international norms, it was he the legitimate power and he had the right to ask for help from France. As Asad. You can not hang the human the label of "illegitimacy", just because you don't like him. It is the policy of "double standards". So we "reach" to cancellation of the marriages third party without the consent of the husband and wife.

Exclusive: Secret State Department
cable: Chemical weapons used in Syria

The use of chemical weapons by the
Assad regime would cross the "red line"
President Barack Obama first established
in an Aug. 20 statement. "We have been
very clear to the Assad regime, but also
to other players on the ground, that a red
line for us is we start seeing a whole
bunch of chemical weapons moving
around or being utilized. That would
change my calculus. That would change
my equation," Obama said.

The al-SWQ confederation now targets university (I suspect). I found this term, and will be using it to refer to al-Saud, al-Wahhab, and al-Qaida ideologues, in short al-SWQ (they all suck, BTW).

Deadly blasts at Syria university
More than 80 people have been killed by two blasts at a university in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo on the first day of exams, activists and officials say.

Report: Assad Orders Army to Fire Missiles at Israel if He is Killed

January 14, 2013 9:43 am

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has ordered his military to launch ballistic missiles at Israel if he is killed, according to the Israeli online newspaper Inyan Merkazi.

The website reported that Assad met with his top generals recently to express concerns that he could be killed by advanced American missiles recently provided to rebel forces, or by a violent mob similar to the one that violently murdered Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Should either of those scenarios become reality, Assad reportedly told the generals to unleash Syria's considerable missile arsenal on Israel and Egypt.

The thinking behind the attack on Israel would be for Assad to preserve a lasting legacy as someone who confronted, and ultimately tried to destroy Israel.

As for the attack on Egypt, Assad is angry at the country because of the new Muslim Brotherhood-controlled government's support for Syrian rebel groups, many of which are fellow Islamists.

Largest Russian naval exercise in post-Soviet era

The Russian Navy has begun its biggest war games in the high seas in decades that will include manoeuvres off the shores of Syria.

More than two dozen ships drawn Russia's all four fleets, as well as long-range warplanes, will conduct nine-day exercises in the Mediterranean and Black seas. It is the largest naval manoeuvres since the collapse of the Soviet Union, officials said.

The purpose of the war games is to improve coordination between different naval groups during missions in "far-away sea zones," the Russian Defence Ministry said on Sunday.

Experts suggested the exercises will serve to project Russia's naval power to a highly explosive region and render moral support for the embattled regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"This part of the world ocean has key geopolitical interest for Russia, considering that the Russian Navy has a maintenance and supply facility in Syria," the Russian Navy General Staff said last month.

Russia leases a naval base at the Syrian port of Tartous.

The naval manoeuvres will involve training for landing operations on the Syrian shore, informed sources told Russia's Interfax news agency. Several big landing ships taking part in the Russian war games carry marines, munitions, and "military hardware," Interfax reported last week.

Moscow may also be preparing for possible evacuation of thousands of Russian nationals from war-torn Syria, experts said. About 9,000 Russians are registered with the Russian Embassy in Damascus, but their total number may well exceed 30,000. Thousands of Russian women have married Syrian men who studied at Russian universities and military academies in past decades.

'No credible evidence' Syria used chemical arms: US

A top US official on
Wednesday categorically
denied a report that
according to a leaked State
Department cable Syria had
used chemical weapons in
December.

"At the time we looked into the
allegations that were made and the
information that we had received, and we
found no credible evidence to corroborate
or to confirm that chemical weapons were
used," State Department spokeswoman
Victoria Nuland said.

Well, islamists decided to turn their angry now against themselves. Looks like a snake that bites its own tail.

What sect belonged this mosque? Shia islam? It is the only motive that I saw for they demolish the temple.
They probably did it on a Shia or Alawaite mosque. Lysosomic self destruction it is - the inherent character of the al-SWQ confederation.

I doubt it because they usually pin the blame on assad. Moreover there's hardly any difference between mosques of different sects building wise apart from the "texts" inside it which could easily be disposed off.

Whichever it is, the music is playing. Islam will never dominate when it can't get along with other sects. The situation in Mali is prime for conversion.
