2. Boys are considered to be a retirement/pension plan who bring wealth with his bride as dowry as well.

We can't eliminate dowry by law. Parents should spend more money for their daughter's education than saving money for dowry. Sex ratio is in favor of females. Still they are giving dowry because they are ready to get married at lower ages to men who are much older than them. Dowry is a major reason plus few syndromes like "Vansh ka Chiraag" and "Budape ki Lathi".

The basic reason of the issue is girls in India were sitting at home and taking care of household work and not earning anything.Now the situation is changed as girls do work outside and also at home but largly the issue is still BIG.

Its an INSULT to a man and his family who asks for dowry... but shameless men are still drowned in greed.
