One of Neo's thread i came across his one post referring pakistan as motherland.

But as far as i know or as far as the list goes pakistanis mostly refer their country as fatherland as the following list confirms. So where from the confusion arise.is it fatherland or motherland. Is it that pakistan tries to behave like more arab so they have replaced indian terms like motherland with fatherland and "KHUDA hafiz" with "ALLAH hafiz".Is it like inorder to differentiate itself culturally pakistan adopted more Arab culture?

They don't. Most modern Pakistanis refer to their country as 'motherland'.

On the other hand, Indians in antiquity referred to their country as "'fatherland". It was called: "Āryāvarta Pitrubhumi", particularly in Vedic Sanskrit texts, and most notably in 'Vasistha Dharma Sutra", that locates Āryāvarta to the north of the mountains of Pariyatra and Vindhya and to the south of the Himalaya.

The first time Allah Hafiz was used in public was in 1985 during Zia era.

I believe the term originated with the Independence Struggle.

It was easier to exhort people to defend the honor of one who gave you sustenance- your "mother".

Rama in ramayana says,"Janani janmabhoomis cha swargad api gariyasi". Meaning: Mother and motherland are greater than the heaven itself. Thus, comparing country to mother is ancient and can be found in our epics and puranas.
