The following are vessels that have served in the Pakistani Navy at one point:

PNS Babur - former HMS Amazon; commissioned into PN in 1993. Recently was humiliated by Indian Navy.

PNS Jahangir - former HMS Diadem; commissioned into PN in 1957 and converted to training vessel in 1961.

PNS Shah Jahan - former HMS Active; commissioned into PN in 1994 and currently in active service.

PNS Alamgir - former USS McInerney; commissioned into PN in 2010.

As you can see, the Pakistan Navy has a theme of naming of their vessels after former Mughal emperors. Pakistan even named its cruise missiles after Babur.

By why hasn't Pakistan named any of its weapons after the most illustrious and greatest of all Mughal rulers, Emperor Akbar?

Maybe they are waiting for some super powerful galactic laser that destroys planets to be invented(in collaboration with China of course) to do justice to his stature??
    or
Maybe because Akbar was he only one that didn't massacre Hindus or Buddhists unlike the others you have mentioned.

    Because he is a kafir.

He created his own religion blending Islam with Jainism, Vedic beliefs, etc.. He tried to make this the imperial religion. He tried to integrate to the land, even though his ancestors were Persianized Turkic-Mongols.

His main empress was a Rajput. And after him the Mughal emperors had 'Indian'(Rajput) bloodline. After a rajput gave birth to the next emperor(Jahangir). And this became a tradition.

To name it Akbar, that weapon has to be suicidal. Ideology of Akbar goes against the thinking of Pakistan. Why would they do so?

Why didn't they name other dynasties people like Slave dynasty (1206–90), Khalji dynasty (1290–1320), Tughlaq dynasty (1320–1413), Sayyid dynasty (1414–51), and Lodi dynasty (1451–1526). The Khilji dynasty, under 'Alā'uddīn (1296–1316),Hyderabad Nizam's

Hmmm, may be they dont have a ship worthy of being called "Akbar"="Great"!!

Yeah agree with the earlier posters about Akbar being secular (sickular as some prefer), started his own brand of "teachings". Was benevolent to all religions, married a Rajput, abolished taxes on other religions etc. May be its plain that they want to name after cruel people to make up for the impotence of their ships!

Others were mostly looters. Came in, killed looted and soon withered away to die in some unknown wilderness. Akbar won and ruled on India for 4 decades. Who's more macho? :D

May be for them Macho means those who were marauders, looters etc and not the ones who won hearts and ruled for 4 decades.

Now that is great news. I knew that Ilyushin-76 is called 'Gajraj'. Mil-24/35 is indeed great. 'Akbar' is a very apt name for it.

Well in the earlier part of his Life Akbar was not so "great" as we read in our history books.

He was a twilight secularist. One whose tolerance levels increased at the later part of his life.

Akbar cancelled two tax aimed at Hindus- pilgrimage tax(Tirthyatra maisool) and jizya within 4 years of taking independent control of his kingdom.
What more he could have done in the initial years ?
