The Minister may have had a point.

However, what is surprising is that this cannot be the Congress Party's line.

Therefore, why was he allowed by the the great secularist Sonia to make this statement or his earlier statements, like advocating 'azadi' (secession) for Kashmir, separate statehood for Jammu and union territory status for Ladakh?

Sonia sacked the Congressman who called her son, Rahul, a clown.

But how has she turned the Nelsons eye to all this shenanigans?

Further, who should be the CM is the prerogative of the political party which has the majority.

And if they select a Muslim, how can one complain, it being a democracy?

This religion and caste aspect being brought in for everything for political and cosmetic gains.

Let competence be the guide and not caste or religion.

He is merely being an opportunist and playing to the gallery.

With BJP winning both the LS seat in Jammu region, he has guessed the direction of wind correctly.

If those statements can garner him some popularity then, well and good. If not then there is greener pastures out of Congress fold. ( ???? Panther's or BJP may be)

Coming to law, A Hindu can become CM of J&K. But, eligibility doesn't guarantee selection so, one cannot say a Hindu should or a Hindu would become CM.

If like Pakistan, if there were law barring Hindu, then there was something to look into. But, without such barrier, it's a non issue.

Amit Shah arriving in Jammu for Mission 44

There are only two ways for getting a Hindu CM.

BJP wins majority (44+ seats) and projects a Hindu CM.

    OR

Congress allies with a Kashmiri party, and wins majority in Jammu by projecting a Hindu CM. Maybe the Congress is trying to take the wind out of Amit Shah's sails by this plan.
