why Awacs when we are developing AEW&CS??

Recently it was in the news that India is going for two more Awacs aircrafts from Israel....Now I have a question, since we are developing our own AEW&CS, why we are only ordering three aircrafts and going for israeli aircrafts instead????? how does it make any sense???

israely radar has more range(400+kms) and can scan 360 degree and the aircrafts from russia.the one we are developing has less range and cant scan 360 degree.
