Actually, HInduvta per se is esoteric.

However, there is no doubt, that when footloose cannons like Togadia, Singal and some wild elements of the RSS go on their gossamer wings of their self interpreted creativity bordering on scaremongering, Hinduvta takes a very onerous meaning. The same way as the Owassis of the Muslim world creates the scare psychosis.

Notwithstanding these footloose cannons of either side Indian secularism has developed deep roots and cannot be shaken.

Already the continuing attempt of both the Congress Party & now of the BJP to what the DMK terms as 'imposing Hindi and making others second class' has created a furore and exploitation of this by Political Parties for selfish gains has created a storm in a teacup. The issue has been deliberately muddied. What has been lost in the din and the smoke and mirror is that fact that while none minds learning Hindi as the link language, English should also be used for communication since notwithstanding nationalistic tendencies, it is an international ticket to keep the homestead fires warm.

Omar Obdullah was discomfited and thought it was an imposition to make India one in culture, language and oddly, even religion!

Thus, in all this din and Govt action therein, it indicates that the federalism and secularism remains the undying ember that engines India.

Interestingly, a large majority of Indians, as one heard on TV, including leaders who should know better, Hindi is not the National Language as they thought it is. It is merely the Official Language. This misconception is another reason why people get het up & fear carazed whenever the issue of Hindi is brought in.

the hindu fascism is really laughable indeed! I have proved in a thread that how there can't be a hindu fascism. Those who thinks there will be a hindu fascism have no knowledge about culture and philosophy of hindu religion. Its the time western brainwashing media should stop thinking structure of hindu and other religions is same.
    .
PS: philosophy can be same but not structure

Of course there is no fascism. It fact, people who use this term hardly know the actual parameters of the term.

@Singh , would you please elaborate , particularly on "regressive" part , because some one who is "confused" can only say it as a regressive ideology.

No it's not....Gandhi was Hindutvawadi and even Nehru followed Savarkar's footprints (according to the above article)! Hindutva is the most modern and progressive ideology! Yes it does say destroy regressive mezhabhi abrahmical ideologies for prosperity and progress! EU did that and progressed. ME is stuck with Islam and see what has happened to it and what they did to the world in past 1400 years. ;)

Another BS article for you Singh - about Islam being so progressive that Ireland, Netherlands etc etc rich countries became more Islamic and progressed but pakistan, SA, Malaysia and other islamic shytholes etc are chaotic, inhospitable, and lag behind because they did not follow Islam and non-muslims did......Hhahahahahahha so basically the achivements of Kuffar and non-msulims is due to Islma and faliure of Muslims / islamic people is not due to Islam. Clearly, the target audience is krpto-islamic sympathizers, paki type islamic fanboys, islamic apologists and Rabid anti-Hindu / Christian / Jewish leftist jholachaps! What's so progressive and modern about akraman ? I presume you have never attended RSS camps. :pound:

Please explain that to your family and relatives the Hazaras of Afghanistan. You don't have to convince me that Islamism is regressive.

PS: I hope you didn't forget you are an Aghan Hazara of Mongol-Turkic origin. ;)

First let us be clear A critique of Hindutva is not an attack on Hinduism. There is no comparison between Hinduism/Sanatan Dharma/Dharmic Religions and a western construct the socio-political ideology called Hindutva.

Secondly it is Confused because so far

    1. No one has been able to define what it is.

    2. No basic consensus on political ideology of the various streams of antithetical theologies.

    etc.

Thirdly it is Regressive because of what we see.

    1. Supremacist

    2. Divisive and Violent

    etc.

Actually all religion from time to time gets its crop of fanatics, except islam which endorses fanaticism so has a permanent pools of fanatics. See even Buddists arr rioting? Sikhs had there own share and the embers might have not completely died down if recent stifes are any indication.

Sikhs who advocated for a separate state didn't do so out of any religious motives but because they felt there was a breakdown of the covenant/contract between the people and the state.

Neither Buddhists who went on a violent rampage against others justified it by twisting any of their famous ahmisa sutras.
@civfanatic has made excellent arguments re:Hindutva previously.

I am not an expert on all this.

All I understand is that it does not concern me the least, as Owassi tirades either.

Or that Christian chap's duplicitous moralism, who comes on TV. I forget his name.

Religion has no place in governance.

Secular means all are equal in every aspect of life - no favours given and no favour asked.

So what do you think is Hindutva ?

Why should it be constrained by defining it and limiting it's scope?

Hindutva political ideology , means cultural nationalism. Even NCERT book quote it as such.

    "Supremacist" , "Divisive " , elaborate please.

There are two words sarvdharmsambhav and dharmnirpeksh meaning all religions are same and secular respectively.
    .
if the policy is all religions are same , then you have to give equal attention to all religion
    .
and if the policy is secularism then it means no favour given, not to think about any religion while taking out a policy of government.
    .
indian constituent says indian policy is secular but congressmen misunderstood it for all religion are same.

Congress thought all religions are not same.

Some were different is what they preached and so they messed up the issue and divided the already divided society due to Partition.

Dont mind Singh. He had been one of the hardcore supporter of Congress and then switched to Aap. He still continues to support Aap! That tells you a lot, isnt so? He has some special dislike for hindus may be. Actually I think he is one of the elite seculars of India. So no wonder he doesnt miss a chance to attack hindutva.

Please re-ready post. Or are you trolling again ?

Those who wanted Khalistan certainly didn't have any theological arguments.

Khalistan movement's catalyst was OP BS, 84 riots and then ensuing actions of the Congress Govt aka breakdown of social contract.
