England and india were the two favorites before the tournament started, but both the teams have been scratchy to say the least. By the look of things, England might just scrape through against the west indies, but hardly a convincing performance.
Cricket is a funny game, india may yet crank up at the business end of the tournament.

Final Aus and SA. india ka koi chance nahi
Going by the performances of individual teams, it is very difficult to say who would be at the finals and who would win. Chill madi, winning is not the end of the race. It's just a game.

Pakistan will be their in final and its for the 2nd team there is competition between others.and pakistan will definitely lift cup at mumbai.
Fine this is a prediction thread, but does logic ever apply to you? Pakistan has come out of the match fixing controversy recently(so mental factor if there), plus there are a lot of new players in the team. Till now, yes they have performed - but not satisfactorily. Quarter Final would be a huge game, as Pakistan would need to raise their game technically as well as psychologically.

Dream on, Both India and Pakistan will be out before Semi final. Both are ruining the game.
Might happen yes. There are bad days in Cricket mate! Hold on, we're not out of the race yet! :)

Great achievement huh ? I assume all the good 8 teams will go to the quarters, so this group stage is just to eliminate the teams like Netherlands, Canada, etc. Shit planning IMHO!

No, not at all a great achievement. This Indian team has played with a lot of fault in planning and execution of the earlier games. The invincible line of batsmen has faltered too.

Yes & No - group stage matches are for teams like Canada etc who win ICC second class matches, to get a chance to play big matches and prove themselves. This is how Bangladesh became a regular ODI side, can't say the same about Bangladesh being a regular Test Team. Plus, if there are no group stages, the entertainment factor would go missing. Remember, it's all about dollars! The more matches, the more money to be minted.

Giving chances to the likes of Netherlands and Canada in the WC is insane. Let them play in some tri-nation series and prove themselves.

/\/\/\ Re-read my post again. Minnows play ICC first class matches & the best among them are given chances in the WC. They have to start somewhere. Also look at Ireland's performance this WC.

All i am saying is first play them with good teams in some tri nations tournament and then allow them to play in WC. WC qualification could very well happen in parallel with some pointless tri nations tournament India and all other good teams used to play. Anyway this world cup is a joke :)

Ask if logic ever applied to cricket.unless u r playing it on ur pc.If it was all about logic then india in 1983 and pakistan in 1992 would never have won the cup.

Are you delusional? I talked about points that teams need to make it to the QFs and you come up with your useless rants as 'Pakistan will be their in final and its for the 2nd team there is competition between others.and pakistan will definitely lift cup at mumbai.'. Stick to the topic!

Unless those teams are a regular ODI side recognized by the ICC, there is no way they can play any tournament with regular ICC recognized ODI teams. WC qualifiers is the only way right now.

For delusional people, yes it is. You have a comrade in here too! :pound: Go for it Tiger!

Then ICC should change the rules to play them in regular tournaments.

I better be a delusional than a blind supporter of a shit game cricket.

I have had enough of the non sense that's been going on. Base your posts on sound cricketing logic and take the crap out from here.
The cup has thrown up some facinating results and the group of death has lived up to it's billing.

No one can predict anything in cricket till the fat lady sings. India and England were put as favourites to win before the cup and they have been unpredictable all along.

The pressure seems to have gotten to captain cool and his instincts have deserted him. Need an inspired performance against the windies to get the confidence back.

There are many things going wrong with the Indian team. When opposition bats from overs 11th to 40th, there is hardly any spirit seen in the team. They let opponents take easy singles and doubles. This has to stop. They should force the opposition to work hard for singles. W.r.t. bowling, I would not blame Nehra that much for the last game, as Bhajji might have got the same treatment too, had he bowled the last over. Considering the match is in Chennai, we should play 2 regular spinners, minus Piyush Chawla. Our batsmen needs to be a little pragmatic, while batting P3.

Yes I have seen in a couple of the big games atleast that Dhoni has let te game drift. His field placings have been quite ordinary and not what it use to be before. Damn the burden of expectation. Being the host is actually a curse for india. This team right now is not playing to it's potential.

Yes, pressure is certainly there. But we have such a strong batting line up, even then our batsmen failed in some matches. They seriously need to believe that they can!
