When the temporal overcomes the spiritual, it is natural that sparks shall fly!

It is all about the control of funds.

    Nothing new, nothing surprising.

We have seen these before too!

It will also pass and fade into history.

'Gurdwara attack pre-planned by Cong-backed Sarna group'

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Avtar Singh Makkar has blamed the Congress government in Delhi for the bloody clash outside Gurdwara Rakabganj.
Makkar told HT on Thursday that the Congress government was supporting the Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), led by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Paramjit Singh Sarna. The attack was pre-planned by the Sarna faction, he claimed.
The SGPC chief said Manjit Singh GK, president of the Delhi unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), and his supporters had been invited for the DSGMC executive meeting at the gurdwara. As soon as they reached there, they were attacked without any provocation by members of the DSGMC task force, he added.

"With the DSGMC elections around the corner, Sarna is getting panicky as defeat is looming large over him. A number of his followers have deserted him and joined the SAD (Badal). So, to create a scare among SAD (Badal) members in Delhi, he resorted to this cheap tactic and that too outside a historical shrine. What can be more shameful?" said Makkar.

Makkar also slammed the Delhi police for not registering a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against Sarna and his supporters. Instead, a case under section 452 (trespass) of the IPC and other sections was registered against Manjit Singh GK, who was among the injured, he claimed.

He also criticised Sarna for proposing an amendment to the Gurdwara Act to ensure the direct election of the DSGMC president.

    Sukhbir desperate: Dal Khalsa

Calling the Delhi clash a shameful act, the Dal Khalsa blamed the Delhi-based protégé/supporters of the Badals for creating a ruckus during the DSGMC executive meeting.

"Sukhbir Singh Badal (SAD president) is desperate and frustrated to take control of gurdwaras, be it in Pakistan or Delhi," said Kanwar Pal Singh, Dal Khalsa spokesperson.

He stated that the demand to hand over Pakistan-based gurdwaras to the SGPC was made by Sukhbir during a recent visit to the neighbouring country.

"Notwithstanding the mismanagement and misappropriation of funds in SGPC-run gurdwaras, Sukhbir's lust for Guru's 'golak' (cash offerings in shrines) has gone to the extent that he wants control of Delhi-based gurdwaras by hook or by crook," the Dal Khalsa leader alleged.
