I thought of that, but it seemed the relative speeds of the two ships prevented the VN craft from nailing the CN one at any angle close to 90 degrees.

When did it happen? I searched web and no report find. Such kind of collision is common practice on high sea and almost happens every week in South China Sea when each party claims someone else intrudes their area and has to drive their boat out. It must be a minor incident so no country bothers to officially report it. It doesn’t mean the situation changed in South China Sea but it does suggest there is tension and maneuver happening there daily.

However, no one wants conflict because of such conflict. Let sailors in SCS countries continue enjoying their games until this thing settle down with gun boat or peaceful agreement.
