    Notice the pronunciation,

    Dharti is Tarti.

    Dhillion is also Tillaun

    Bhupinder is Popinder!

One of my very peaceful sojourn was to sit in the Harmandar Sahib and listen to the devotionals; all based on ragas and classical.

If you go to the Golden Temple, see everything but spare some serious time to hear the devotional songs.

That is the pièce de résistance!

When I was in the Punjab, I made it a point to hear the Singh Bandhus every morning on TV.

    Hear them!

Brigadier, well after all, its Punjabi, not Hindi. ;) "Dharti", "Dhillon" is not the "dha" sound as in Hindi, rather, in Punjabi it is written with the alphabet "dhadha", which has that tonal sound. (not the same as "tainka" or "thatta"). Similarly, "Bhupinder" is not the "bha" of Hindi, but "bhabba" in Punjabi. Tonal language, its pronunciation can't be romanized, I guess. :p

    Kaka,

    O to thik hai.

    Spelling waikho!

What's wrong in Popinder, Tillon, Pah(quiver)i, Pappe, Painji,? :)

And Payen, More so since it is used in more colourful description?

    Just pulling your leg.

Too many Sardars were arond (around in Punjabi English) and so I enjaai pulling laag!

    No offence meant!

I also pull laag of Bangali like Pukka Nanga Bangali and also Momota's attempt at gojols.

as if 'go' is some jhol (curry!)

It is indeed good brigadier. I've become more of a fan of this whole new western generation, converts, which have brought their own beautiful touch in their faith and are quite unique. Find these quite soothing and beautiful:
