Islamabad: Pakistan Taliban militants have warned America that it will soon "burn" while calling for Pakistan's rulers to be overthrown for following "America's agenda".

The United States is convinced Pakistani Taliban militants allied with al-Qaida and operating out of northwestern Pakistani border regions were behind an attempted car bomb attack in New York's Times Square on May 1.

The Pakistan Taliban had claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing. If confirmed, it would be the first time their members were involved in an an attempted attack in the West.

A Pakistan Taliban spokesman, in a video message said, repeated a claim of responsibility, saying: "The movement proved what America could not have even imagined ... It was just an explosive-laden vehicle which did not explode. "But it (America) will see, all imperialist forces will see that it will explode also and America will also burn," said the spokesman, Azim Tariq, sitting cross-legged on the ground in front of a rock face and speaking in Urdu.

America's allies would meet the same fate, he said. "They can neither eliminate the mujahideen nor jihad, nor they can harm Islam," he said, referring to Muslim holy warriors and holy war. "Instead, they will have to die themselves, they will be burnt themselves, they will have to dig their own graves," said the spokesman, sporting a long black beard and turban.

Pakistan has been battling its homegrown Taliban, who are allied with the Afghan Taliban, and who have been accused of numerous suicide bombings killing hundreds of people across the nuclear-armed country. But Tariq denied responsibility for bombings in public places, saying authorities wanted to malign the militants with such attacks. Tariq spoke of fighting in various places in Pakistan saying his men were holding their own and the security forces, which he said were being paid with US aid money, were suffering significant losses. "They are being defeated," he said.

Tariq did not refer specifically to any attacks abroad, but said mujahideen "wherever they were, in any part of the world" were supporting each other.

Analysts have long doubted the Pakistan Taliban, operating out of remote mountains along the Afghan border, had the sophistication to plan and execute a bomb attack in a Western country on their own. They can, however, support and train people who are able to travel to the West and carry out attacks.
Tariq said the Pakistani people were being sacrificed for the sake of the United States by their own government, which he called un-Islamic.

"Now is a time to remove them from power as soon as possible. All their policies are anti-Islam, anti-people," he said. "Jihad will continue as long as the ruling coterie and the unholy army continue to follow the American agenda," he said. Pakistan has been cooperating with US investigators trying to determine what links the Pakistani-American man suspected of carrying out the attempted Times Square bombing, Faisal Shahzad, had with militants in Pakistan.

The Washington Post reported that Pakistani authorities had arrested a man linked to the Pakistani Taliban who said he helped Shahzad travel to northwest Pakistan for bomb-making training. It was not clear if the newspaper was referring to a man officials said earlier was detained in the southern city of Karachi on May 4. The government has denied that any arrests have been made in connection with the case but security officials said the man held in Karachi, Mohammad Rehan, was suspected of having taken Shahzad to northwest Pakistan to link up with militants.

In Washington, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said despite Pakistan's recent improved efforts to tackle militants, it must do more. "We think that there is more that has to be done and we do fear the consequences of a successful attack that can be traced back to Pakistan," she said.

These terrorists need to stop making such comments, and buy some binoculars, because those drones are hard to spot.

USA has been burning since 9/11 isnt it with economy in doldrum and military getting beatings in iraq and afghanistan with ever increase in the body bags back home american citizen's are economically broke and with ever increasing scare of terror.
Sir it's not true. There will be 'beatings' to our solders in Iraq, and Afghanistan, but that doesn't mean the US will be wiped out will it? The Taliban is in danger of becoming extinct now ;)
They should watch their a$$es first, instead of making threats without resources to (back up) this threat.

The day the US falls to Islam, I will convert to Islam and follow Allah like an imbecile. (will not happen)
The only beating the US took from this War on Terror is from HOME. Americans don't want the govt spending billions on Afghan while our economy sucks (I'm not saying not all Americans)

Most solders don't even want to fight in Afghan... they know there's no reason for them fighting there.

Pakistan Taliban isn't going to make anyone in the West burn if the best they can find is a retard like Shahzad. The guy was so dumb he left his house and car keys inside the bomb truck and used firecrackers as a detonator.

Quite unlikely from the way I perceive it. The Taliban has been considerably weakened with sustained drone attacks from CIA's air wing. It is not like there in endless supply of human beings as compared to weapons that are manufactured in NATO's factories. Being in defense, I assume such statements coming out of Taliban is purely because they wish to hide their depleting pool of manpower and resources. As the economic crisis has hit the world, many of Taliban's otherwise wealthy financial backers living abroad would also certainly be experiencing the crunch. It is not like Taliban speaks truth all the time its spokespersons open their mouths.

What's more; calling Pakistani government a puppet to the West is not helping them any better than not doing so. With the constant battle raging on in the territory under Islamabad, coupled with a sharp increase in CIA operations, the Taliban are almost cornered. Their traditional pool of manpower comes from the province of Waziristan, escaped militants from Chechnya, Indonesia, Palestine, Somalia, Algeria and other such countries---lawless, without a proper government control policy or sometimes without a government at all. With Russia attempting a crackdown after what happened in Moscow sometime back (assuming again), with the rising support against militancy things are going to get worse for these lot in a few days of time.

Threats like this were not made when Bush was president. Another sign Obama is going to lose the war in Afghanistan as the Taliban become more emboldened.

Oh comeon, you're pointing out the obvious. If the US leaves now, surely the terrorists will grow stronger, and possibly obtain nuclear weapons.
But if the US continues it's operation like now. they will be extinct. Also, if they train the Afghan government to stop such uprisings after the US leaves. The situation is over with.

@The video.
What year was this?

Yes, I do believe the Taliban are about to become extinct.
True the ideology still stays within people, and no one knows when one may turn into a terrorist in the near future, but never will it be like how it is now. Daily bombs, etc.

These guys were brainwashing for decades.
Now comes the stop.

How much will US accomplish without taking the war inside Pakistan??? The Pakistan government is toying with USA while keeping the Taliban safely tucked away inside Pakistan. After 8 years of war why haven't any military goals been reached with a 40 nation NATO coalition and 500,000 Pakistani troops against one of the poorest "third world country" in the world??
