After OBL assasination on May 2 Paki analysts wrote that they STILL have two
trump cards which will keep them RELEVANT in the modern and civilised world

Afghan supply routes and their Nukes which MAKES the world give them some
importance and attention that they crave for

So Pakistan would NOT like to become IRRELEVANT and a nuisance for the world

Pakistan will protect its nukes only to keep getting aid

It will continue this drama of fighting extremism and keeping the Taliban at bay
in order to keep getting aid

USA will be leaving Afghanistan possibly by 2014 (not permanently) USA has alternate routes it is
currently using.

This drama of spreading terrorism and profiting from it is known that is why the drones pound Pakistan
daily

Even with nukes Pakistan is not relevant to the world but a threat. With these other factors gone
the world will work on seperating Pakistan as a nation and from it's nukes.

Ray sir is right, why should they wait to get things worst, if they can disarm them, now is the best time, when they least expect it, once they see things getting worse they will do all sort of things to prevent their nukes from status quo.

The delay can be for 2 reasons:

1) USA still has troops in Afghanistan and 25% of supplies are currently coming thru Pakistan to Aghanistan

2)This is my own speculation but USA will use Pakistan in any future Bombing or war against Iran.

Frankly, I think all this is hot air. No one can "snatch" Paki nukes. It is not that simple.

There are other ways to go about it. The focus should be on constant attempts to dismember Pakistan. Once Pakistan breaks apart, we need to seize the opportunity, and denuke all component nations "peacefully". After the demise of the USSR, all countries like Ukraine and Kazakhastan voluntarily gave up nukes. In the Paki case, Sindhudesh and Balochistan can be persuaded to give up nukes, and so will Pashtunistan, with some effort. Gilgit Baltistan and PoK will be under Indian nuke umbrella.

Pakjab will be the only problem, but they can be persuaded to hand their nukes under international observation or something - new leaders of that nation can be bribed or coerced to do the international community's bidding.

Only then will the threat of rogue dirty nukes recede...

By 2014, US troops would pull out from A'stan.

By 2014, some agreement would be reached on Iran. To attack or not, depending upon how Iran plays the game, US owns from the start. If US is to attack Iran, or give a go ahead to Israel, they might use Pakistani Airspace for a 2 front aerial bombing.

By 2015, World Economy would have picked up momentum (based upon my talks with LF via PM, sometime back). So, maybe 2015 or later is the time frame US is looking at. Seizing nukes would mean a comprehensible destruction of Pakistan's military assets, and many civilian casualties, and 100s of billions of dollars in aid to form a democratic govt in Pakistan, and war re-building, which is just not possible now considering the US economy or the commitments it has vis-a-vis engagements in other countries.

Many would've said the same thing about an imagined US raid near puki army camp nailing down Osama.
I know the two are not the same but we should not forget that Americnas don't hesitate in giving surprises.
However, American move towards Puki nukes is not a very strong possibility atleast for the near future.
In my opinion whenever it happens, will be a reactive measure unlike the Osama raid. It will take place only when pakistan itself deteriorates to the brink and there are panic waves emitting out with fear of nuke hijack by mard-e-momeen ghazis.
That is what also explains the so called delay in moving against the rogue nukes.

Pakistan has a nuclear doctrine because they cannot match India in conventional warfare it is
doubtful Pakistan can be convinced to give up their program. What would convince them?
Pakistan is expanding their nuclear program.Pakistan now realizes the terrorism they preach
and spread thruout the world is going to have have a backlash and only the nuclear bogey
can save them. Pakistan's nuclaear program has deep terrorist roots there is a very real
possibility a dirty bomb will explode somewhere in the world originating from Pakistan. Rather
than snatching the nukes the more likely scenario is they will be destroyed.
